No7 Pure Retinol 1% Night Concentrate - Anti Wrinkle Retinol Serum with Collagen Peptides & Niacinamide for Younger Looking Skin - Firming Face Serum for Fine Lines & Wrinkles (30ml)

I’ve tried a lot of retinol products. I was a Paula’s Choice user for over a decade starting in my early 30’s. I am now 47 and have been using mostly Cereve products but have also tried lots of others along the way. This is, hands down, the BEST retinol product I have ever tried. Since I am an experienced skin care junkie I am typically not at all worried about a retinol being too harsh or having to start off sparingly. I’ve done medium grade level peels at home. So I slathered this ish on like I typically would. Two days later? Holy moly. Absolute peeling. A peel better than a 30% glycolic peel. No irritation though. No sensitivity or redness. Just good solid results. Read that again. Peeling yes. ZERO irritation, burning, sensitivity or redness. My skin looks ridiculously noticeably improved after just ONE application. Smaller pores, more plump, definitely brighter and superfine wrinkles are diminished. FWIW: After slathering this on before bed, I followed the next day with both an AM and a PM application of The Ordinary Marine serum (soley - no other products other than cleansing with Cereve Cream to Foam hydrating cleanser.) The Ordinary Marine serum is amazing too. The hydration is incredible. (If you like Elemis Marine products you will find value in the ordinary marine serum!) I’m still peeling at day 3 but in the easiest way possible and with proper prep my makeup turns out fine. Honestly this stuff is now HG status for me. I can’t wait to see what the cumulative results are. I’ve never left a review on Amazon before but I had to be a town crier about this!

This particular product, Boots No 7 pure retinol 2% night concentrate, is stronger than most other over the counter retinol creams. If you have been using retinol at night for a while, you’ll probably adjust easily. If you have never used retinol (Rénova, whatever), follow the advice in their instructions to use it sparingly and at three or four days intervals at most until your skin has adapted. I used a strong prescription version some years ago so jumped right in. Big mistake! Burn/itch/peel within two days. Half a a tube of prescription soothing gel and a week later, I started back as a rank beginner. Am up to two nights a week now with no ill effects and the face is looking noticeably better. People who don’t know me well guess my age as between five and ten years younger. I’ll take it. Great little tube that stands on its head, measured pumps of non greasy product, disappears quickly into skin, no particular odor. Reminder: you must be attentive to using plenty of sunscreen all the time.

This is my holy grail skincare product. I have been using retinol for years and the no7 1% pure retinol helps keep my skin soft, blemish free, and minimizes fine lines. This stuff has more active ingredients than almost anything at Sephora- definitely worth the investment. Price on here is a bit better than in drug stores as well. Would only warn that if you haven’t used retinol in the past, this might not be for you.

I've never had super sensitive skin and I'm only using this on my cheeks, but omg after just one use, my skin about melted away. It's been 4 days after the first use and my skin is still red and sensitive. It wasn't as bad as a chemical peel but close. I used the amount instructed and I also bought the soother serum that was suggested. Even though it's definitely irritated and dried my cheeks, I can see the skin texture is much smoother... just with one use!! It's definitely worth the money if you're wanting to smooth the texture of your skin and minimize lines. But be ready because it's potent. Definitely don't recommend using in the summer and maybe not in cold weather like I did when skin is already dry.

Take it easy with this stuff. Don’t just jump right into putting it on every night. Let your skin adjust. I did that, and my face peeled so much and became super sensitive, feeling like I had sunburn. Your face will be sensitive to the sun so wear sunscreen if your outside. I use foundation with sunscreen in it. So that works for me. This stuff is just as good as prescription retinol.

Love this actually saw an improvement in a week! Now im 40 and have a few lines and a terrible wrinkle in between my eyebrows and noticed a difference im happy with for a topical option. I was told to start purchasing retinol that shows the amount used in it bc others could claim retinol but have such a low amount you wont notice anything. Now ive used plenty of retinol so i thought id go right in use it every night like i have on the past. NO! Use lightly bc it works i also know it works bc i went in the sun for a few minutes and burned also my face started peeling so yes this works and everything you heard about retinol is true bc this product actually contains it and plus side its affordable! Bc of the benefits from this ive been looking into more for this brand!

I’m not really giving this a mediocre review, I’m sure it does what it’s supposed to do. However, the 1% is very strong. At least it was for me. Read the directions VERY carefully and follow them very carefully. I ended up with a bit of a burn and redness and it was very noticeable and uncomfortable. No one said anything but my husband noticed it. Not exactly what you want the week before Christmas. I thought I had used retinol before and had not had a reaction to it. I’ve also used #7 products before with no problems. However, I am older and I realize 75 year old skin is not the same as younger skin. If you use this product just be careful!

Reading the instructions, I was told to space out the applications as the serum is quite strong. I have used it quite frequently and I've seen good results particularly around my neck. I would recommend!

I started using retinol about 6 months ago and I am a convert - thank you to a very informed assistant in Boots Haverfordwest. The assistant gave me samples which led onto buying the No7 night time routine creams (3) with 0.3% retinol. At first my skin was a little sensitive to the products but I followed the recommended application for beginners and now the 0.3% does not irritate and I do feel that it has had a positive affect on my 60yr old skin - wish I started a few years ago but you live you learn. So now I'm trying the 1% retinol and I can feel it's making my skin a little sensitive again but I'm sure this will pass. Prices vary considerably from different suppliers and I bought the last product off Amazon as it was a very good price.
