Not needed, but using a bigger filter, w/a bigger fan (I have a knob that turns fan down to 35% speed), or 8" filter connected to a 6" fan, gives the outgoing air more time to adsorb in the carbon filter. I got that tip from several places. Finally got to try it! Filter lasts longer, and larger fan (if you can slow it down..), will be quieter! Just a tip.. Just my 2Β’.
