FemiClear Bacterial Vaginosis Symptoms Ointment, 2-Day Dose, 0.5 Oz

disclaimer: I just did the first night of treatment last night and will come back and update my review in a few days, as well as a few days after the next time i'm intimate with my partner. I've never struggled with bv until I started being intimate without barriers with my most recent partner. yeast infections and UTIs? I know my way around those. But bv was a new struggle for me. I've previously taken flagyl for it and the side effects are horrible (not to mention the inevitable yeast infection I always get as a result, kind of defeating the purpose!!) I'd like to avoid taking ANY antibiotics unless they are 100% necessary, and for my case of bv, I do not believe they are (and flagyl in particular is just horrible). So I was looking for other alternatives. I am currently taking a vaginal probiotic as well, but it's only been 5 days, so it hasn't really taken effect yet. My impression after one night of treatment: yes the gel has a smell that has been pretty accurately described, scent-wise. It's kiiiiind of pear-y, but laced with a chemical smell. However, I do not think the smell is as overpowering as other people have reported. That might be because I was well prepared for a horrendous stench based on reviews, and the reality just wasn't that bad. I tend to have a pretty sensitive nose, and I was confused about why so many of the reviews said the smell was so horrendous. It's not pleasant, but it's really not worth making a big deal of imo. And it's FAR more preferable to that horribly embarrassing fishy odor. In fact, I couldn't even really smell it, unless I lifted up the blanket and purposefully stuck my nose under there. I'm wearing my period underwear, so maybe they're absorbing some of the odor? idk. I will say when I woke up to pee this morning, I definitely smelled it, and there was definitely a lingering smell in the bathroom itself a few min afterwards. If you're using a communal bathroom, I DO think that other people would be able to smell it, so keep that in mind. The gel does burn a little bit. On a scale of 1-10, for me it was about a 4. It went away within 20 min and I was able to fall asleep and sleep through the night no problem. It is wise to follow the instructions of staying horizontal during and after application because the gel is very viscous and leaks out easily. I woke up this morning with zero itching. Obviously I can't tell if the fishy odor has gone away because the gel is overpowering any other smell, but again, will update in a few days after i finish the second dose tonight. I'm feeling really hopeful that this will be the solution for me, and I'm glad it's worked for so many other people!! Update: I used the gel last Thursday and Friday. Saturday I still smelled throughout the day. Sunday I did too, but a little less. My discharge also looked very creamy and I was almost convinced I was seeing the beginnings of a yeast infection. However, I woke up Monday not only feeling totally normal, but actually smelling GOOD! It made me realize just how off I was before! This stuff WORKS and I cannot recommend it highly enough!!!

Women always have to be aware of their urinary and vaginal health and sometimes two things can go wrong at the same time causing an issue that needs to be solved. I've had urinary tract issues for years now and have managed them but not completely eliminated them. Then suddenly I was having other issues too. This arrived the day after I ordered it and I tried it for the next two nights. After inserting the gel it did burn slightly but I went right to bed and when I woke up at 4 am it was much milder. Then I went back to bed and felt nothing the next day around 10 am. So I would say the slight burning sensation is not extreme and is very bearable especially since you sleep through most of it. On night two I repeated the instructions and went to bed again. Next day I was feeling so much better. Now today everything is fresh and clean! The only thing I noticed was the pear scent is fairly strong but it goes away by the third day. Wrapping up the applicator in a plastic bag and tossing it out in the trash is a good idea so the scent isn't in your bathroom garbage. I did leave the house the days after the nights I used this no problem. Mostly you can just catch a whiff of the pear scent when peeing. Otherwise it isn't too bad. Would I use this again? Definitely I'm going to get another box to keep on hand. It only took two nights to work and that is not much to worry about! I liked the fast, super effective gel and the healing results. I'm thinking my vaginal health issue was probably causing a reinfection of my bladder. That seems better now too and I took UT-Fem to clear out my bladder so maybe solving two problems at the same time. So don't fear the burn. It really isn't that bad and you'll be asleep most of the time! I am going to try other products by this company, especially the urinary flush! P.S. 2 - I also tried the one-day yeast infection gel and it does work well. You may have a bacterial and yeast problem but not know it until you've treated one and still have the other! I have purchased this product twice now within the last year and it has worked both times. I agree with all the other reviews: it does burn, it does stink and it will stain clothing BUT it does work. The burn can be a little much (I think it depends on how bad your infection is), but it goes away after about 10ish minutes. It for sure stinks and you will smell like it down there for a day or two after you have finished the two day treatment. I recommend a pad of some sort so it does not leak through your pants and to apply laying down, at night. Some of the people say it smells like pear, some say chemicals; I think it is like a chemical smell mixed with stink bug? Truly disgusting but worth it lol. Hope this helps ladies!

This stuff works really well and will recommend to anyone who needs it and doesn't want to use regular medication. Other users are correct that it does burn a little. The first dose does burn, but the 2nd dose doesn't burn as much. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is due to the smell, and the smell it leaves on clothes if it does leak onto clothes. I should have used a pad, but I didn't think it would create a mess. MAKE SURE YOU USE A PAD!!! It did leak out both nights and left a stain on my sweatpants. The smell does stay on them too, I've washed my clothes twice in hot hot water and it's still there, so they will have to be thrown away, BUT it's well worth it to get quick relief with out having to go to the doctor. But I do want to reiterate that the smell is horrible and you will smell it on yourself for a couple days after while using the bathroom. It's a weird pear smell that does not smell good, and I found myself having to cover my nose when going to the bathroom. I wish they made an unscented version.

I'm back after two weeks. First of all I had BV show up on my pap smear two months ago being on HRT this was a trigger for BV and a first for me. Musty odor and itch🤮. After a round of antibiotics it was gone for a month and then it hit again. I found this cream and thought it try. First off the creams smells is strong you can smell it through your clothes at bedtime. It is runny so out in before you kay down and wear a pad. The smell lightens and the symptoms were gone after 48 hrs so second dose next day. It takes another full day for residue to be gone completely. I pared this with Kuish feminine wash a probiotic foam I found in Amazon. I can now say I have went all day with no returning smells or discharge it's been two weeks. I would definitely use this again. It saved me an it her doctor appointment.

First of all let me say that I am extremely happy that I ran across this product. My personal experience is that yes it does burn for me the burn was very intense and I dreaded having to do it for two day especially after it burned so bad the first day. The second day it did burn but not as much as day one. However the relief that I felt was almost immediate my entire body felt better after the first night and I felt so much cleaner. The smell was a little strong but it wasnt overbearing. Overall I would purchase this product again.

It works. However the scent overpowered everything, I was disgusted by it… I’d probably go to the GYN for a regular antibiotic next time. So it is good for something over the counter, I wouldn’t use it long term.

I was skeptical of this product but really need a solution for reoccurring BV! Glad I tried thia product, gave me instant relief did what it was supposed to do. The smell was strong but not horrible. Almost like olive oil i didn't lo w the oily sticky texture it left behind and the smell did linger for a few days. I had no discomfort or burning sensation. Doesn't hurt to try.

Just completed both doses today so I’m not able to determine its efficacy. However, thought it would be helpful to share some opinions on the application. First, pantyliner is not enough, this thing is very oily and it leaks! I found out the hard way when it leaked through my panty to my shorts on the first night. Use a pad; I used two pads stacked forward and back to ensure ample coverage up and beyond my butt crack. Yes, it burns and my lady was on fire! Not for long though, the burning sensation subsided quickly after two minutes. Yes, the smell is strong. You can however get rid of the smell with some vaginal soap, it’s not that bad overall and the smell don’t exactly linger the next day when it’s all “flushed” out. Hope that it works.
