Would the 8 ft version of this ramp work?** A: Based on my experience with the 10ft version, the 8ft would “work”, but it would be borderline due to the steepness of the incline. The 2ft length difference doesn’t sound like much, but the weight of the person being pushed up or down the ramp will determine whether it will work or not. A person self-propelling their wheelchair would be really tough going up. My suggestion would be to use an 8ft board like a 2X4 to model the incline to see if it’s reasonable. This model has stability legs in the center, previous ones did not. This feature is a must for a ramp of this length. The attachment to our garage entry door was easy. Drilled two small holes and the included pins secures the ramp. It’s quick and easy to set up and store. When stored, it takes up little space, folding up compactly .
