The slip solidifies on the surface of the plaster mold. The thickness of the solid slip increases over time. Therefore, if the slip is poured out in a short enough time the handle would be hollow. However, the walls of the Neti Pot are fairly thick. The walls of the handle are generally thick enough to make the handle solid. **Q: How much salt should you use in 1 pot?** A: I use less than 1/4 tsp. More doesn't dissolve well, and stings.
