The New Outdoor Kitchen: Cooking Up a Kitchen for the Way You Live and Play

May have been more properly titled "Decorating ideas for Outdoor Spaces"
Beautiful photos but there may be more helpful books if you are looking specifically to plan and construct a working outdoor kitchen. There are gorgeous close up pictures of French Crockery, gardens, place settings, inside porches and paths along with "Outdoor Kitchens". To be fair this is a really beautiful book with a ton of information about outdoor kitchens. My issue with it was there is also a ton of information about things that have very little to door with "Outdoor Kitchens". If you are looking for ideas on how to eat, relax and enjoy outdoor spaces, this is a great book. If you are looking specifically for ideas on designing and or constructing a working outdoor kitchen, there are more targeted books. I found Scott Cohen's "Outdoor Kitchen Design Workbook" was more helpful for us as we looked to design an island to hold a grill and entertain guests.

Nice idea book
Nice gift book for new homeowners. Good ideas for planning yard. Should help wile away some stormy winter nights in a fun "How about this, or that" way, too. Not what I would think of for someone with a small yard. More for people who love to do cook-outs or entertain a lot.

Beautifully done book
Beautifully done book. Well written, and the pictures are great. It is more of a fantasy / dream type of book, though. Geared towards a much higher tax bracket, than myself. Regardless, it has given us lots of great ideas!!

Useful Information
I am planning to build my outdoor kitchen in a few weeks, so this came just in time. The pictures are excellent quality. They show simple to extravagant. It's nice to have a reference guide for all the nuts and bolts; lighting, plumbing, countertops, etc. Very handy book indeed!

Returned
I found it to be less functional and more design. I was more interested in the nuts and bolts of designing an outdoor kitchen. Types of equipment, what is functional and what a must or not. It wasn't for me.

GOOD FOR IDEAS
This is a useful starting point for anyone wanting to build their own outdoor kitchen. The notion of full on catering in the garden [not just a little BBQ] is much more common in the States so not all the references are appropriate for the UK market: the gardens tend to be much larger than ours, for a start. The styling is dated though and reminded me of the late 80s more than the 21st century but the basic info and concept is sound. With more people staying at home, this idea is going to spread.

Outdoor Kitchen, in England are you mad?
This is something of a fantasy book for UK BBQ aficionado's. Even if we had the money we do not have the weather to justify the lavish and inevitably expensive addition to the house that the book extols the virtues of. For the precious few that have the sort of money that can indulge the whim of erecting something akin to these fabulous designs you have my envy but for the rest of us it looks like we will once again whip out the rusting metal thing we cook outside on only at the very last moment when we can feel reasonably sure it won't rain in the next hour.I tried sourcing one of the items mentioned in the book, the Big Green Egg, and found only a German company that could supply them with relative ease and at a price that assures it will probably not be readily available from our own shores soon. And therein lies the crux of the problem for this book. It just isn't realistic to expect people in the UK on almost any scale to use this book as inspiration for an exercise in throwing so much money at so little opportunity.
