Part of the spring tune up for the Baracuda MX8/MX6 RECOMMENDED
Revitalized my MX8 very easy to install OEM part, fixed slow running MX8, part of a spring tune up. Do not forget to get the new tracks also, they wear out in one season and are critical to fast climbing. 2PK Zodiac Baracuda MX8/MX6 Swimming pool Cleaner Wheel Track Tire R0526100 The old ones did not look so bad, but was trying to speed it up and went with these as a last resort. When I took the old ones off they looked ok, but on closed inspection they were showing rounded off cogs, and a track on one side had a tear. So long story short.....the new tracks did make an improvement on the MX8 speed, and climbing ability, well worth the cost. More importantly now it will climb the wall to the top and clean the water line. This is the first thing to replace when trying to fix MX6/8 problems. The cogs on the inside of the belt are very important to the smooth operation, worn or missing cogs makes the unit run poorly. See pix. These two together will 99% of the time fix slow running Baracuda MX8 MX6 Baracuda R0524900 MX8 Engine Assembly for Pool Suction Cleaner 2PK Zodiac Baracuda MX8/MX6 Swimming pool Cleaner Wheel Track Tire R0526100

Worked like a charm, the sweeper is back to normal operation.
The original part only lasted 9 months, hopefully, I don't have to replace it every 9 months.

Easy to install and worked perfectly
I'm not as handy with tools as I should be but caught a YouTube vid on how to do the replacement and it really is easy enough that anyone could do it. My aquatic "big trak" (if you know, you know) now works perfectly.
