And I would assume this is the correct rope grade/material for such use .. correct ?** A: In my experience, 1/4" is too small for a clothesline. And cotton will stretch from the weight of wet clothes. You may have better results with a line that has a nylon core and is 3/8 or 5/16. **Q: Could this be used as fabric piping? Need to reupholster a seat cushion.** A: This is excellent for fabric piping. I’m an expert at all types of sewing-fabric construction and alterations. I will compare it to a high end material for piping. **Q: I have five large outdoor roll up shades. The 20 yr old 1/8” cotton cords began to deteriorate 3 years ago.
