Practically what I wanted
I want to play music in my bed room so I need 2 speakers and 1 power amplifier. My friend bought Aiyima A08 some time ago so I listened to his equipment and I am quite satisfied with A08’s sound quality. Now Aiyima 08’s price has increased a lot so I want to find a cheap alternative. I know Aiyima A07 is good but it doesn’t have any DAC interface or Bluetooth receiver and I have to buy a pre-amp or a DAC to use with it. Therefore, I want to try A08 Pro, which has a reasonable price and a Bluetooth receiver. I am not sure whether I need a DAC so I borrowed my friend’s DAC that costs about $190 to have a test. The build of the A08 Pro looks nice and although it is small, it feels solid and its weight is not very light. The sound volume level meter looks pretty cool. I use Sony SSCS5 speakers and an Android cellphone to work with A08 Pro. To my surprise, A08 Pro supports LDAC codec for Bluetooth, which is the highest quality audio codec for Bluetooth. The pairing is simple and the sound quality is awesome! The sound has a lot of clarity and details. The bass is pretty powerful and treble is also nice. I feel the bass from my friend’s A08 system is a little bit stronger in bass but I don’t think it is because A08 Pro is worse but because my friend’s speakers have 6.5 inch woofers, which are larger than Sony SSCS5’s. Actually I even feel A08 Pro has louder volume than A08 so it can play high dynamic range music easily without much effort. The tone controls are pretty effective. Frankly speaking, although A08 and A08 Pro have the price difference of $60, I don’t think A08 Pro’s sound quality is any worse. When I turned the volume of the cellphone to 0 and turned the volume of A08 Pro to maximum, I could hardly hear the noise from the speakers. Then I compared the sound quality of Bluetooth LDAC input and the sound quality using USB through my friend’s DAC and A08 Pro’s Aux input. I used the same lossless music file from the same Android cellphone. Maybe my ears are not sensitive enough but I cannot tell the difference of the sound quality through A08 Pro’s Bluetooth receiver (using LDAC) and through A08 Pro’s Aux input from a $190 DAC (using USB). Since I don’t need to connect this A08 Pro to optical or coaxial digital input, I believe I don’t need a DAC at all! Summary: A08 Pro is a great amplifier that has great sound quality at a very attractive price. If you don’t need optical or coaxial digital input, you can use this without a DAC but still get awesome sound quality through Bluetooth LDAC codec. Pros: Good sound quality LDAC codec for Bluetooth (actually I haven’t found any other similar priced amplifier that has a Bluetooth LDAC codec) which is the highest quality audio codec for Bluetooth Extremely low noise. Easily upgradable through replacing the AC adapter with a higher voltage and higher current rating power supply Cons: At this price level, I almost cannot find any issue with it. Maybe in future Aiyima can set a passcode for Bluetooth so that no one nearby can “rob” my Bluetooth connection?

Top-rated comprehensive 5-star review...
Spoiler alert: Disregard the price, because this little amp sounds better than some amps costing 20 to 30 times its price. Buy one. Yesterday. I read and watched the various reviews (and IT HAS A VU METER!), and I wanted to see and hear for myself, so I decided to get one. From the first moment I fired it up, expectations were met and exceeded. This amp is one of the new breed of Chinese class D amplifiers, which is to say they sound nothing like the Class D amplifiers of a year or two ago. Using the best amp chip currently available (the Texas instruments 3255), they have the ability to pump out plenty of power for the needs of 95% of listeners. It was nice that it came with a larger power supply than the one typically available with these amps. This one had a 36-Volt 6-Amp power supply (for a total theoretical output of 216 watts across both channels, or 108 watts each. At normal efficiency, I would figure actual output at about 70 to 80 watts per channel into 8 ohms), as opposed to the standard 32-Volt 5-Amp (160 watts total, figuring for about 50 watts per channel into 8 ohms). Bottom line: it has more oomph. The AUX OUT port was also a very nice feature, as it means that you can run a powered subwoofer with this amp. Keep In mind that it outputs a full range signal, not just 80 Hz and below. Most subwoofers have an internal crossover, so this should not be an issue for virtually anyone. The Bluetooth is, like many of these amps, VERY eager to be used, so once it is paired, it will grab onto your phone automatically, anytime you are near. This will be good news for some, and bad news for others. It is easily solved by turning off Bluetooth on your phone. I ran the A08 Pro with a separate preamp feeding it, but it was also cool to be able to run it with no outboard DAC, no preamp, nothing but the A08 Pro itself, using only my phone as both the source and preamp. Bluetooth had very good sound, showing just how good of a built-in DAC it has, and when in a rush, it was fine to use. For the price, the built-in DAC is superb. The sound quality is nothing short of amazing, especially considering the price. I've got some very efficient speakers (97 dB, 8 ohms), and some very inefficient speakers (80 dB, 4 ohms), and the A08 Pro sounded amazing with both of them. There was PLENTY of power for my efficient speakers (Zu Audio), but I was wanting to know if there was enough for my inefficient ones (Magnepan). I didn't need to worry. The Zu towers easily topped 100 dB cleanly, and the Magnepans went cleanly up to 90 dB. I never push my amps to clipping, and 90 dB is louder than I ever use for critical listening, so there was more than enough power for any listening scenario. There was (of course) some hum and hiss with the extremely efficient speakers, and very little with the lower efficiency ones, which is true of virtually every amp on earth. This is to be expected when always running an amp with the volume knob turned all the way up. Having said that, it certainly does reduce the hum/hiss by far if you leave the volume knob between 9 o'clock and 12 o'clock (which I'm sure most people will do), whereas I always had mine turned up to 5 o'clock/100%. The EQ controls are right on the money, cutting or increasing the frequencies that virtually ALL listeners will want to adjust, and I never found the tone knobs to be deficient in any way. In fact, I was surprised by the fact that I LOVED them and their effects on the sound. I've got a (VERY) much more expensive EQ from Schiit, and I prefer the Aiyima tone controls. How does it sound? FABULOUS. This little amp has very low damping factor, and lots of 2nd and 3rd order harmonics, so it has some very tube-like traits in how it presents the music. For those who understand this sort of nerdy terminology, in tube amp terms, it sounds more like an AB push-pull than a single ended triode (SET). The soundstage is wide, separation is great, soundstage depth is similarly great, and it gives ZERO listening fatigue. I've sat for hours, going through my music library, enjoying every song, without ever tiring of the musical presentation. In short (and especially considering the price!!!), the Aiyima A08 Pro is one of those overachievers that blow your mind and reshuffle your perception of affordable Class D amplifiers. It's one of the best amps currently available that is attainable by virtually any music lover. It works with almost any speaker, and it just sounds GREAT. What more could you want? Highly recommended. VERY highly. p.s. I'm still CRAZY about that VU meter. It NEVER gets old.

A worthy upgrade
Aiyima's A08 Pro amp is an upgrade from their already powerful A07 mini amp. Under the hood they're about the same, but with the A08 Pro you also get built in Bluetooth, bass and treble controls and a working VU meter. The icing on the cake is a beefier power supply that gives you a total of 216 watts vs. the 160-watt power supply from the A07. The extra power gives improved dynamic range and more robust bass. My only reservation is the Bluetooth, which connects automatically whether I want it to or not. I disconnected the Bluetooth antenna to use the A08 with a tube preamp which adds multiple inputs and remote control. Together they sound about the same as my full-sized Yamaha amp with a much smaller footprint and price tag. Recommended!

Unreal sound quality and the value is equally unreal! Just buy it.
I currently have been using a Yamaha TSR-700 receiver (same as the RX-V6A), my setup consists of: -Yamaha TSR-700 7.2 channel receiver (100w x 7) -NHT SuperOne 2.1 bookshelf speakers on IsoAcoustics stands -RSL Speedwoofer 10s subwoofer -Topping E50 DAC with an upgraded power supply I wanted a smaller integrated amp to not have to use a 7.2 channel receiver for stereo-only sound, which is a waste. Swapping the Yamaha TSR-700 with this Aiyima A08 Pro, I expected a tradeoff of power and sound quality for a more compact setup and no need to use a remote to control volume. Unbelievably, not only is the Aiyima more powerful, it sounds better by far! My SuperOne 2.1 speakers are not the most sensitive (86 dB) and are a sealed design, so they are not the easiest speakers to drive. My room is small, 11 x 11, but the Yamaha I had to crank up pretty high to get the sound to be dynamically loud. The Aiyima, I barely have to have it turned up and it rocks my room. The sound is warm and clean, with no audible hiss or other issues. The treble and bass controls are very musically setup, they boost or cut just the right frequencies. I have a competing amp from SMSL which sits in a tote in my basement, it just did not sound nearly as good as this, and it was more expensive and almost double. It has an annoying remote which wobbles on the desk and was small, fumbling for it to quickly turn down the sound was annoying. The Yamaha receiver remote is stable, yet huge and takes up real estate on my desk. This is not much bigger than the Yamaha remote (look at the picture, my Topping E50 is right next to it and shows how tiny it really is. The subwoofer connection needs a 3.5mm to stereo RCA connection, which works perfect for my RSL Speedwoofer 10s. You then use the internal crossover on your subwoofer, which I love (my SMSL forces you to use a 50hz crossover, which I hated!). Now I can seamlessly blend my subwoofer with whatever speakers I use. The Aiyima A08 Pro is fairly tiny, but the power brick it comes with is huge and is upgradable to a 48V 10 amp linear power supply, which will unleash the entire power output capability. This would easily rock even a big area, especially with efficient speakers, so I think it is good as it is (and I am hard to please with audio equipment). The VU meters are functional and I love them, the orange/amber display matches my Topping E50 well, and the LDAC protocol for the Bluetooth sounds incredible, usually Bluetooth sounds audibly muffled and missing dynamics, not with this! If you are on the fence about this, just get it! The value is off the charts, as I seriously cannot believe I got something that sounds this good for what I paid for it! I can see this competing with most units under $1000, the new TI chipset has convinced me it is a huge step up from amps that have been made in the last couple of years. This has honestly been one of the biggest surprises, as I wrote it off without hearing it and never expected it to exceed my expectations. I would like to try it with the matching tube preamp, but even without the sound is warm, yet can be adjusted to your preference through tone controls. No remote, no cryptic menus to go through. Rotary turn on, turn up or down, and tone controls, so easy to set the sound to your liking. The analog VU meter is icing on the cake, and the LDAC codec sounds incredible for the Bluetooth. To summarize, I expected a 2-3 star product, due to the cost and past experience with Chinese amps. Instead, I got a solid 5 star mini-amp, that blows away my $600 receiver and $230.00 integrated amp in sound, and simplicity is a huge blessing. As for you, you got my highest recommendation I could give. I think all but the most snobbish consumers would see how great this is, and wait until you hear it! I am now a big Aiyima fan!

Small package, great audio
I recently purchased the Aiyima A08 Pro audio amplifier and I have to say, I'm thoroughly impressed. The amplifier offers some excellent features and it has exceeded my expectations in terms of sound quality. The TPA3255 chip, in particular, is a standout feature that provides a powerful and dynamic sound that is both clear and precise. Even at high volumes, the sound remains clear, making it perfect for my desktop setup. Another feature that I'm particularly happy with is the QCC5125 Bluetooth 5.1 chip, which makes connecting my devices to the amplifier easy and seamless. The Aiyima A08 Pro supports a range of protocols, including SBC, AAC, APTX, APTX-LL, APTX-HD, and LDAC, which means that no matter what device I'm using, I can enjoy high-quality audio with minimal effort. However, here lies the first little quirk that can be both a curse and blessing in disguise. The amplifier defaults to the Bluetooth connection over the wired connection if a previously connected Bluetooth device is in range and turned on (i.e. phone or computer). I also paired the Aiyima A08 Pro with my Fiio K3 DAC, which has taken the audio experience to the next level. The sound quality is top-notch and I can hear details in my music that I didn't even know existed before. I can turn up the volume without any distortion and still be able to hear the all the little details. The ability to control tones with Bass and Treble knobs allows me to fine tune the sound to my liking and I love it. I combined the Aiyima A08 Pro and the Fiio K3 DAC with my Jamo S803 bookshelf speakers, and I couldn't be happier with the results. The sound is incredible and the bass is deep and powerful. However, one thing I will say for my current setup is that these speakers are 60 Watts RMS and 120 Watts peak. At low volumes, they don't put much sound out so the I have to keep the knob above 1/4 of the way before I can hear good enough sound. Maybe that is just these speakers as I haven't tested any other speakers. Hope this review helps those who are looking for a small amp for a desktop setup.

This unit packs a punch!
We received this unit on September 7, 2022 and have been in love with it! In the audio chain we have a Technics 100-C paired w/ an AT-VM95SH, Hagerman Cornet 3, Aiyima T8 Preamp, and this A08 Pro feeding a pair of Denton 80th Anniversary Bookshelf speakers. On first impressions, the A08 Pro is solidly balanced with clean, clear, and crisp treble. Bass is forward and present, without any muddiness during our listening session. 80th Dentons are notorious for having slightly rolled off highs for some users, but I can say with the A08 Pro paired, this DEFINITELY is not the case! Finish quality of the unit is solid and excellent for the price of entry. Can't complain at all and represents a durable piece of equipment. Volume and tone controls work well and without issue. RCA on the volume knob is red; Blue when in Bluetooth setting. When paired with the Aiyima T8, they work as intended and can even be stacked in place as they were designed to be (see picture). Only minor complaint is that the T8 does like to move a bit in the channel, so adding so blue tack might help to stabilize. Other than that, what can we say? This unit draws some clean power at a very competitive price and is a well-built budget contender. It has some fun features like bluetooth, tone controls, and a VU meter to boot. I was looking at potentially upgrading down the line to another amp, but I have to say that this little guy really does the job when it comes to clean power. I'm not sure if an upgrade down the line is really necessary at all after using this one! Highly recommended. :)

Clean, accurate and powerful
As an engineer, a musician, and audiophile and extremely picky about my audio equipment, I must say that I am impressed. Clean, accurate and powerful- Using the supplied 32V 5A supply, this is a big step-up for my Center channel speakers and I'm agreeing that this amp does add warmth to the sound quality. It does have self-protect, and if it shuts down, it needs to be powered-down and re-started. I was changing inputs around and tripped its protect circuitry, but once reset, it came back normally. I've had this in operation a day, so hopefully it has longevity. Noise is pretty much non-existent, Very happy.

Sounds nice, runs warm
I have it running some Jamo S805 small tower speakers and the amp does a good job. It’s in a bedroom and gets plenty loud and sound plenty hi-fi. Bass is very full from the A08Pro. And, I like the tone controls. It would be 4 or 5 stars if it didn’t run so warm. My Fosi BT20A Pro which powers some other speakers in the basement is also class D and runs very cool. I worry about long term reliability with the A08 pro running so warm, especially when driven harder.

SOUNDS GREAT, IN COMBO WITH MATCHING PRE-AMP
The only improvement would be a remote, or perhaps one that controlled both the pre amp and this excellent value for money and very good looking little power amp. Works extremely well with a pair of FAQ car speakers, to much improve the sound of TV and also with a pair of Polk indoor/outdoor speakers. An AUS made Whatmough sub-woofer adds excellent bottom end to both applications.
