Great product, easy to use
I needed to for find a tripod mount for my. Galaxy Note 2. I was looking for something that was compact, easy to use, secure, and a good price. The Square Jellyfish tripod exceeded my expectations.Compact: the design of the mounts arms and materials used makes this the perfect portable accessory. I've seen other mounts and they are bulky this product is small enough that I can fit it and my tripod in a small pouch on my bike. Perfect for taking pictures on a long ride.Easy to use: after following the instructions I was able to mount my phone securely to my gorilla pod. It did take some adjustments to find the sweet spot for the arms so that I wasn't pressing buttons and the phone was balanced. What I found ghat works best is to tighten the arms so that they move but are stiff this allows me to get the arms in the right position once the phone is put in. Also I use my fingers to spread the arms tight against the phone while tightening them (works best when the mount is already attached to the tripod). Like I said it took a little practice but after doing it a couple of times I can secure the phone in a few seconds. There is also a couple of helpful youtube reviews that show how it works too.Secure: my phone has a flip case that moves a bit however because of the rubber feet on the arms and the ability to adjust the position of the arms I am able to get a very tight grip on my phone. I use the mount in my car attached to a gorilla pod and even with the phone bouncing around it never moves. I wouldn't mount it to my rock climbing or bike helmet but to secure my phone to a tripod for pictures or video this is definitely the right product.Price: the price is right when it comes to this product. The quality of materials and function totally was worth it to me.I highly recommend this product and I look forward to trying other Square Jellyfish products in the future.Update: The manufacturer sent me the new version of the mount (spring tripod mount) as a free upgrade to this product. I love it even more then the original. It makes popping my phone in and out of a tripod super smooth and I think the grip is fantastic for how small the product is. I wouldn't mount it on a bike or anything like that but to be able to mount my smart phone on a tripod to take a picture it holds great (I even use it in my car as part of a car mount). I really like the fact that the spring mount does not interfere with my buttons on the phone and is also large enough to fit a case on the phone as well. No problems holding my Galaxy Note 2.

THE PLUS: It fits my Samsung Note 3 with an Otterbox case on it
The negative:The base is tiny so it's hard to secure it to a tripod and extremely hard to get it properly attached to my Cam Caddies ([...]) as the base is so tiny it pulls through the slots. Ideally the main support would be wider and a suqare or at least a cross (+) shape so it would tighten securely to your tripod or CamCaddie or like-device.THE PLASTIC STICK also needs to be taller. When tightened to a CamCaddie it pulls down so low the arms can hit the Caddie when loaded with an extra large phone ("phablet").The metal arms are far too flimsy for the job and bend easily. At least have the time I use it, I have to bend the arms back as best I can - and am not sure how long that will work before they are ruined. The arms are prone to open and release your phone. They are (A) hard to get snug/tight to the phone initially and (B) once you've got them as best you can, the knob to tighten the arms does a poor job of keeping them in place and soon loosens and allows the arms to open. The knob would need to be on some sort of gear/cam set up where when you twisted it it would tighten the arms on the phone but this is not the case. It's just a (light) friction knob attempting to keep the arms in whatever place you have put them. The little rubber devices on the end of the arms have an "L" shape to them to keep the phone from slipping out. However, the rubber spins far too easily on their pegs so the "L" soon turns sideways or down allowing the phone to slip off. Making the end a full circle of rubber rather than just a tiny piece would solve this.EVEN THE PLUS HAS A NEGATIVE: It fits my Samsung Note 3 with an Otterbox case on it ***BUT*** because the rubber grips on the ends of the arms are so large that they fit the Otterbox case, it means they are too large to properly fix the Note 3 without the case. The phone slides around without the case. However, this is mitigated by the fact that even at it's best, it is so prone to drop the phone that you should never use this item without your phone in a very rugged case and you should not attempt to move the phone when it's in this device.

I have this one and the new one that will be released. Must buy
The current version i bought off Amazon about 2 months ago for my Sprint NOTE 2. Worked perfect. Takes a minute to make sure its secure, but once done it works fine. No issues at allI received the newer version as a gift for buying older version. It has to clamps that extend and would work more then likely for a phone alittle larger then Note 2 5.5 inch screen. Maybe up to about 5.9 inches. "WIll update once a phone of that size comes out in USA" Anyhow i feel the older version was more secure just took alittle longer to put on. The new version with my seidio surface case can slip out of grips since its just spring loaded. I would probably if i was the designer, make the springs alittle more resistant. That way the phone will be held real tight and no worriesOverall for the money its a good buy. I recommend for small tripods used on tables or gorrilla tripods hand from a tree etc.... I am not worried about wind, or anything knocking it out of either new or old mount. Only fear would be a mount your holding up in the air over a body of water or something like that. A bump from a wave and jolt of your hand would make your phone fall out the mount into the lake/ocean. "Only example i can think of.So go ahead get one or three... so you can stop taking pics manually and be in your pics!
