Just purchased this and can't get the ring opened large enough to go on the bar. How do you get this on the handle bar?

My husband said he unscrewed the screw entirely and was able to slip it onto the handle at the position it would sit. It took a little force but he was able to get it on. Good luck!

Will this hold Gatorade squeeze bottle?

I don’t have one on hand to try it but it holds a 20 oz Coke type bottle.
