Seven months, hundreds of gallons, still working.
I bought one of these distillers seven months ago, and have distilled at least a hundred gallons of water with it. The good: It is so easy to use. Easy to fill, then just set it running and come back later. If you have a tank (as I do) you can run it as many times as you need to fill it, then just run it when your tank needs a top-off. It can make clean water faster than you can use it for drinking, making coffee, watering house-plants, and so on. The default timer (3 hours 30 minutes) is just right to fill the (included) 3-liter carafe and leave a little residue in the bottom of the boiler so it never boils dry. My previous unit boiled dry a few times, and although the thermal switch worked, it did eventually damage the unit. I have never had that problem with this one. The only real cleaning it needs is the occasional shot of citric acid (included) to dissolve the scale, and once in a while, pull off the gasket and make sure it's clean. Sometimes the boiling water can throw minerals up onto the top section, and you have to descale it. (When you use it a lot, it is at boiling temperature for long periods of time, so it is effectively sterilized. You don't have to worry about bacterial contamination!) The bad: After using it for several months, the stainless upper part of mine is rusting and cracking. Stainless steel will rust, if you put something on the surface, like the big silicone rubber gasket that this machine uses, and let water in between the surfaces. You have to remove the gasket when you aren't using it, though you can put it back once it is completely dry. It would be nice if they made a 5-gallon version. This unit makes three liters at a time. You will have to keep refilling and restarting it several times a day if you need enough to fill a bigger jug or tank. In summary, if you use it as intended, it will distill a lot of water for you. I could not have bought as much distilled water from the grocery store as I have already made with this unit for the money that I paid for it and the power it has consumed.

Breaks after a few weeks
Zero stars. Stopped working after a few weeks. Do not buy this product, they'll never accept a return.

Improved timer, prefer old pitcher
Needed to replace a unit that quit working. The new timer that is preset for 3.5 hours is fantastic. Definite improvement. My complaints would be with the new pitcher. On the positive side it has a silicon ring at the bottom that is protective and adds some stability. It also has ml measurements on the side which could be beneficial. On the other hand I hate the hard plastic lid. Seems flimsy and easy to break. The piece over the spout does not close, so it seems pointless. The new pitcher is also slightly taller than the old one. So to put the pitcher under the spout on the unit, you either need to line it up perfectly with the spout on the pitcher or tip the pitcher slightly. I imagine the spout on the pitcher was designed to make it easier to pour, but I found it does not work for me. I end up spilling water unless I pour VERY slowly and carefully. The metal lid on the old pitcher is more secure and easier for me to pour without spilling a drop.

Works very well.
It works exactly as advertised. We make about 6 gal a week, which is more convenient than I expected it to be.

They keep breaking !
If you use these distillers daily I wouldn't count on them working and good luck getting them fixed. We purchased one in March of 2023 and liked it and purchased a second one in July of 2023. The first one just stopped working in January 2024 the panel went blank, no warnings, or indication prior to it failing. I contacted support and after a couple of weeks they sent me the circuit boards for the unit without any instructions. I figured it must be a simple matter of swapping cards like in a PC. Unfortunately one of the cards is glued to the panel so replacing it isn't feasible. The second unit we purchased in July failed in February. Same thing blank panel nothing works. So they are lasting less than a year with daily use. They last long enough so you can't return them but still under warranty but the warranty isn't any good at this point. Update: July 2024 - The bottom line is Vevor won't honor their warranty. I've went back and forth with them and they absolutely will not take their products back for repair or replacement. The best they offer is replacement parts that you have to install yourself. That would be acceptable for me but the repairs involves removing glued on panels. If you have to remove glued on pieces from the broken product then it should be replaced or repaired by them.

Good design but poor quality components
I purchased this distiller about four months ago and I've been producing a couple of gallons per week of distilled water since then. Overall, I am pleased with the design and features -- I am especially happy with the timer feature that keeps it from boiling dry and building up crud in the bottom -- and it works well when it is working. However, a couple of weeks ago it inexplicably stopped working; the panel wouldn't light when it was plugged in and nothing seemed to work to get its attention. After a couple of hours to diagnose the problem, it turned out to be that the somewhat flimsy fuse holder that is built into the main power cord connector was broken, and no power could flow through the fuse as a result. Even worse, it appeared that someone had previously and ineptly attempted to solder the broken part of the fuse holder back into place. It took a bit of work to get it properly soldered back together (it was a very tight fit to get my soldering iron into the teeny-tiny fuse holder, but I managed it), and now the distiller is working again. However, upon opening it up to work on the inside of the power connector, I could see that many of the other components are of equally marginal quality, and I suspect it is only a matter of time before something else fails. Nevertheless, when it is working, it does the job well. I don't know what I would have done if I hadn't been able to diagnose the problem and repair it myself.

Faster than I expected
Bought to make distilled water for my Cpap. Thought maybe this would save me from hauling gallons from the store every other month. The unit makes water fast. I set it for 2 hours it makes a half gallon. I like that it has a timer that allows you to keep water in the boulder to prevent scaling. Fan noise is reasonable. I’m happy with the unit.

Having a built-in timer is great
I picked the VEVOR distiller out of the dozens of nearly identical clones because of the built-in timer. Being able to have the distiller shut itself off before it boils dry makes clean-up so easy - the mineral deposits from my hard water are still wet and soft, just dump the water residue, add a little citric acid and fresh water, scrub with a plastic brush for a few seconds, rinse, and the pot looks brand new. Very happy, overall. Not to say it is perfect. The touch controls are almost too sensitive - I added an external cutoff switch after several times accidentally turning the distiller on by brushing against the control panel. The spout on the carafe is too broad and shallow, making it really difficult to pour from the carafe without making a mess - you have to pour quite slowly and gently. Assembling the carafe handle to the carafe really requires 3 hands - thankfully, you only have to do that once.

Un producto muy bueno
Me encanta este producto, es el mejor de su clase! He tenido varios otros a lo largo de los años y este es el mejor hasta ahora. Funciona exactamente como debería y no llegó roto!

helder water
Voor het distilleren van kraanwater. Het gedistilleerde water is veel voller van smaak en glashelder.

distillatore toalmente elettrico

Question: Can I use sea water in the distiller? Answer: Yes, sea water can be used in the distiller. By vevor on Mar 19, 2024
