Once you understand them. The instructions were woeful. I ended up doing several hours of 'research' on a well known video streaming platform, and then more on the internet, before I had the confidence to undertake a safe install.It took a bit more research before I learned how to use the controller. It's simple to use once you find the correct instructions for the controller you've been supplied with. This may not bear much relation to what’s in the woeful instructions.In use - it's brilliant. It will blast out a lot of very warm air very quickly. And will heat a space at a far lower cost than over-priced British electricity.There is a trade off, and that's the noise. At full power it's like a jet at take off and ticking over and keeping the place warm - there's a rhythmic clicking from the pump.I ended up buying and fitting a diesel filter (there's not one), some extra exhaust pipe and a silencer to complete my installation, and found some tool clips that were perfect for clipping the exhaust pipe to its mounting. There's no combustion noise. no fuel leakage, no exhaust gasses going anywhere except where they should ( the unit is mounted with a carbon monoxide alarm in close proximity).The red part of the outer casing remains cool to touch when the heater's being used. and used it will be when our dank winter returns.This is a great bit of kit with some confusing and contradictory instructions. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ * updated * Buy some spares: Silencer and a longer exhaust ! *by Z***N on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 January 2023* 2. Start below and work up !So finally got the chance to set this up last weekend. Trip to DIY stores for a 28mm sds drill and some fire cement following delivery of the extended exhaust and silencer baffle.First up, rubber mallet and a thump and the outlet finally popped back into place !!!!Chopped a couple of bits of cls timber to lift the unit above a chipboard worktop, recycled some bathroom tiles to act as a base / heat shield and punched the exhaust through the wall and secured with a decent drop on it to get rid of any condensates. Sealed hole edges with fire cement, the exhaust gets very hot ! (Single brick garage wall)Half filled tank with white diesel, it was local, red diesel is a bit further up the road!Studied for leaks , no leaks on diesel tank hurrah !!Wired up step down converter bought from Amazon that came with no instructions. If you need them you shouldn’t be playing with this stuff. Switched on all worked fine.Fitted CO detector, I value my life ! Smoke alarm and fire extinguisher are also on their way!!! Trust nothing that burns fuel !!Now for the first fire up, Chuck the instructions they’re worthless, hop over to YouTube for guidance instead !!Hit the start button and after a bit of fuel pumping and fans whirring it fired up. No really it did !!!Set it at 10 highest setting , in minutes I could feel the benefit! Blows hot air like a good un !!I’ve positioned 2 vents at waist level and left top two open.I did try to route one to knee level but the drop off in air volume and heat wasn’t worth it so removed extension pipe I’d fitted and went back to two at waist height.Annoyingly I read some “advice” online that said leave the air intake in the heated zone: DON’T !!!!The noise the unit makes is mostly derived from the air intake so this weekend that’s also getting punched through the wall !!! Very noisy !!!!Other things to sort: cage off the exhaust !!!They get seriously hot !! Minor burn already whilst being careless aka stupid !Do they work ? Yes they do ! Are they cheap to run ? Way cheaper than electric!! Red diesel is £1.20/ litre locally and I’ve used 3.5 litres in last week running it at full tilt whilst in the garage.More jobs to come: insulate door, insulate ceiling, push air intake outside.Am I happy ? Yes !!!!Is it warm ? hell yes !!!Would I buy another ? Yup !!! And I might just do that , maybe add another at floor level and manage the output from them until I achieve an nice ambient temperature.Could the product be improved, oh hell yes but then the cost would go up !!4 stars !1:This was delivered a few days ago, first day off and its freezing up North so thought I'd have a bash at installing this in my garage workshop.First up: build quality is shocking.Its cheap for a reason ! The catches that hold the cover on are awful. The cover is the cheapest tin steel you could imagine. the internal fuel tank is not secured in place. The fuel pipe is not secured with clips to the pump or tank. The supplied exhaust outlet is way too short, you will need to buy an extension. No silencer supplied, there is a pack on Amazon currently that consists of 120cm exhaust pipe, plus silencer on prime next day for £12.00: buy it ! you will need it.Air intake pipe way too short !
