How much weight can this motor lift if it was used for a "mini" garage door opener? Door would be 50"x30". Approximately 30lbs

The maximum torque this motor could produce is approximately 0.67 lb-in peak at close to stall. The stated speed 120 RPM is assumed to be a no-load value. Using a more reasonable operating 60% of these values, the motor may approximately produce 0.4 lb-in at 90 RPM. The power available from this unit is approximately .426 watts. You want to lift a 30 lb door 30 (?) inches in an assumed 10 seconds which is approximately 10 watts. So what you are asking is will a 0.43 watt motor power a 10 watt requirement. The answer is no. (The preceding power requirement calculation does not address any added wattage requirement due to friction or drive efficiency losses which would increase the "no" to a "HELL NO")

Can I use a 12V 1A adapter with this motor?

Depends on your application. I got 20 RPM motor: no load at 12V ~100mA. No load start-up 2A. I think stall test was nearly 4A.

Do these leak grease from the gear box?

Nope no sign of any grease leaking out yet

If this motor is used as a wind turbine generator, will it output 12v at 200rpm?

I used mine as a hand crank phone charger that charged a battery pack. I worked great and the output will vary based on your load and speed, so it will probably have a lower voltage than 12v at 200RPM. You'll want to put it through a full bridge rectifier with a capacitor in parallel to produce a DC voltage, however the diodes and capacitor will also drop your voltage. The battery pack I was using was only around 6 to 7 volts DC, also the gearing in the motor is really high so for a wind turbine you would probably have to help start the blades to get them to spin.

Great little motor. Make sure you don't use screws too long because threaded holes are not closed and you might damage the gear. Seems to have suffisent torque even at low RPM.
