Golden

My first time ever reading a poetry book and I loved every second of it. I would send snippets to my boyfriend and would make him cry. The pure honesty in the author’s writing was everything.

Every single one of her books is so beautiful from the drawings to the words. Even the book itself feels so nice and soft.

I absolutely adore wilder and this book is transformative

I really wanted this to be a 5 star read because I LOVE with Nocturnal - the first book to make me want to write poetry!I didn’t gravitate as much to the vibe and poems in this one than I thought I would. Golden is still a solid 4, maybe even 4.5, though! So many of the poems were amazing! Wilder did a great job in Nocturnal and wild is she of creating a satisfying aesthetic throughout the books, which she continued in Golden. But there were some poems I didn’t connect with. Still, it’s a wonderful book!

I was so excited when I found out that Wilder was writing another poetry book, and this poetry collection did not disappoint. If you've read Nocturnal then you will notice that Golden is a bit more happier and less dark than Nocturnal. As with most collections of poetry, there were a few that I gravitated towards and a few that I couldn't relate to. I also loved that the book included artwork by Henri Rousseau. I think the artwork matched the poems.

I love this book, I can't wait to read Nocturnal! Wilder has to be one of my favorite poetry authors.

I love everything Wilder writes. Golden is the perfect follow up to Nocturnal (my favourite poetry collection). It's light and positive but honest and real. The illustrations are gorgeous too
