The Cosmic Cushion Meditation Cushion may be the most comfortable meditation cushion available. The built-in slop helps create and maintain a comfortable upright posture during meditation. The side extensions help to support the upper thigh and prevent numbness in the legs. The cover is made of durable cotton twill fabric, which is removable and washable. The Cosmic Cushion is available with Kapok fill (cotton-like fiber) or Buckwheat Hull (the outer shell of the buckwheat grain) fill. The fill is contained in linen fabric so the cover can be removed. The Kapok fill provides solid lift and feels soft to the touch. The Buckwheat Hull fill conforms to the shape of the body to provide a solid, grounded feeling. The Buckwheat Hull version has a zippered opening, which allows you to adjust the firmness and height of the cushion. The Kapok version has a compression opening to allow air to escape. It is not recommended that you remove any of the Kapok fill. This REGULAR LIFT cushion is recommended for persons of average height, weight, and level of flexibility. Also available on in Lowloft, Travel, and Oversize sizes. Please note that the actual fabric color may vary from the image representations.

A step in the right direction
I've been sitting zazen strenuously, in the half or full lotus, since the 1960's -- daily and in long retreats. Cushions have become more important now that I approach my eightieth year The perfect meditation cushion has yet to be developed but this "cosmic" cushion is the best I've found so far. I like the similar shape of the inflatable zafu a little better but not the hard feel of the air-filling -- plus it eventually loses air. Kapok is the preferred filling, but they stuff the cosmic cushion way too tight and hard. Like another reviewer here, I ignored their advice and removed about half the kapok and it is now quite comfortable. Kapok has to be fluffed up between sittings to stay soft, which is a little more difficult in this shape, but doable. However, the twill cover is too stiff and harsh. The velour seat covers on my old Camry are softer and have lasted perfectly more than thirty years. Traditional zafus are filled with removable kapok and covered with a smooth, soft, pliable cotton that still holds up nicely over the years.

The perfect medium between comfort and support
A perfect fit for mediation practices. This is the 3rd style cushion that I've purchased, and the best. The traditional round zafu cushion is great, but doesn't provide any support for my thighs, making it difficult to relax my lower body. The full-crescent cushion provided too much support to the lower region, consequently causing my upper body to feel crunched up, which negatively affected my ability to breathe and caused lower back pain during longer sessions.Lastly, the cosmic cushion, which is a cross between the round zafu and full-crescent, acts as the perfect medium between the two, providing just enough support to help relax the lower body witbout interfering with breathing or causing upper body discomfort.I've been meditating for little over a year now, and am confident I have found the cushion that I will be using for the duration of my practice.

comfy and convenient but attracts dust and pet hair
This is a comfortable cushion and I like that some buckwheat can be removed to change the firmness of the cushion. I especially love that the buckwheat is housed in a separate muslin liner so you can remove the outer cover without handling loose buckwheat. But I do not like the cotton twill outer fabric--it has a static electricity problem and seems to attract dust, dirt, and pet hair. I've tried washing the cover and using fabric softener in the wash, but no luck. The fabric just attracts everything on the floor--every minuscule particle.

Love it!
I bought this for meditation and it really helps support sitting correctly to make sure your spine is straightwithout putting pressure on it. I like that you can take out some buck wheat to customize your cushion.I saved them in a zip lock baggy. I also like that the outside fabric can be washed. It has some side thighsupport too. I've already recommended to some friends!

Helped Renew My Daily Meditation Practice!
Emily has nerve pain in her leg, so she needs her meditation support pillow to be superior quality. The Cosmic Cushion is shaped like a whale tail, and takes pressure off the sciatic nerve when sitting cross-legged to meditate. We recommend it to everyone who needs extra support. It is easy to get into a correct and comfortable position using the built-in indentation for your heel. Or try it freestyle! Chronic pain used to make it difficult for Emily to sit frequently or for long periods, but the Cosmic Cushion allows for extended meditation times. We have the kapok filling and love its smooth firmness, and have heard good things about the traditional buckwheat. Renew or begin your healing practice of mind-body connection with the Cosmic Cushion!

Did NOT relieve leg numbness and back pain
I bought this cushion, hoping it would eliminate, or at least reduce the leg numbness/pain and lower and upper back pain I experienced on my regular kapok zafu. Not only did it not do those things, but I think it made it worse. My legs get numb faster with this cusion! Very disappointing. I hope they take returns.

Worth it
I purchased this almost a year ago and it still looks now. It has been the reason I have been able to sit longer and take my meditation practice to the level I desired. It’s worth the money.
