MR16/GU5.3 12V 4W LED Bulbs 40W Halogen Bulb Equivalent Spotlight Bulb for Landscape Light Office Home Improvement (White 6000K, 10pcs)

We've got a fair amount of existing MR16 halogen fixtures around the house that we've been wanting to replace with more energy efficient bulbs. The OMTO 10-pack of LED MR16 bulbs looked like they'd fit the bill.My first impression of these was less than impressive. All 10 bulbs were packed loosely in the box with nothing to keep them from jostling. Given that the box was shipped in nothing more than a padded envelope I was expecting some of them to be dead-on-arrival.The bulbs themselves appear to be relatively sturdily built with plastic base and integral aluminum heat-sink forming the body of the bulb. They are sturdy enough that they will likely survive the haphazard packaging.Despite the 3000K rating the bulbs are on the bluish side in terms of color. The best I would describe them is "neutral white" - definitely not "warm".There is nothing in the Amazon listing nor the packaging that would indicate whether these are dimmable. Short version: No, they are NOT dimmable - at least with my dimmers, anyway.I tried these both with my incandescent load dimmers and with my electronic load dimmers. With both types the trickle current that these dimmers use to detect bulb presence cause the OMTO bulbs to light up. When turned on the bulbs do vary slightly in brightness from minimum to maximum setting but emit an audible hum at the higher brightness levels.At $2/each these are a great value for bulk, cheap LED bulbs for constant on applications. For me, lack of dimmer support is a show stopper so I'm sending these back.

I ordered these to put in our landscaping around our new gazebo. I was pleased with the price point and the number of LED bulbs I was going to receive; however, the LED 40W Halogen bulb equivalent spotlight bulbs that are designed specifically for landscaping lighting (according to the title AND description) are NOT waterproof. I will have to wait and use these bulbs inside because I am afraid of the fact they say these are NOT waterproof. I should have read the description better before I ordered them. I'm lucky that they will fight into one of the light fixture in my kitchen. The bulbs are a standard size and luckily will fit there as well.

I have been switching my older landscape lights from halogen to LED bulbs. The LED bulbs have several advantages. They use about 1/10 the power, last much longer, and run cooler. In most cases they are a direct replacement. You just unplug the halogen and plug in the LED bulb.I had replaced several of my halogen bulbs with 7 watt LED bulbs. These are 4 watts, but are still very bright. In addition, they have a much whiter light than the 7 watt LED bulbs. Color temperature of light is a personal preference, and I really don't have much of a preference. These are a big upgrade in terms of light over the old halogens, and the much lower power draw is a huge plus. There are 10 bulbs in this box, and you will save 25 or 30 watts each. Ten bulbs times 25 watts is 250 watts. My lights run about 8 hours every night, so this box of bulbs will save me two kilowatt hours of power every night. At 15 cents a kilowatt hour (local cost of electricity) that's 30 cents a night, or over $100 per year.

The light is consistent with my existing warm white 3000K landscape lights. The bulbs arrived well packaged and protected. I just installed them so no idea how well they will last relative to other bulbs but are priced 75% below what I can buy them for at my local big box store so I'm pleased.

These are superb 12 V LED lamps for multiple applications. They draw only a quarter Amp but provide as much light as a 40 W halogen bulb that draws over 3 amps. There is much less risk of circuit overload using these so you can provide much better lighting at less cost. These are excellent replacements for any low voltage lighting application they will fit into, as long as you don’t need the waste heat production of incandescent bulbs. I highly recommend these replacement lamps!

These are special pin end bulbs that work with my new hall fixture and provide a lovely bright warm light. I replaced my old fixture because it really didn't light my staircases well enough to provide maximum security for me. They work with fixtures that require pin ends, not screw bulbs.
