Very good bow, especially for the price. My only complaint is how loud it is. Weigh came in almost spot on. I ordered a 45# and it came in as 46# ar 28in. Arrows fly true and the grip is absolutely a pleasure to hold. Would highly recommend, just get some silencers, limb felt, and a flemish twist string. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN THE LIMBS

I searched for an entry level bow for quite some time. I watched a lot of videos and read reviews and finally settled on this one. It was a great balance of price point, design and style for me. I wanted a takedown recurve that looked great and shot great. So I finally got this one and I am very happy with it. Some people may have pieces come in damaged or warped but that's no different than a defective product at Walmart, things happen. I didn't have any of those issues. I twisted my string 30 twists and strung the bow, let it sit over night and shot it the following day. After about an hour of shooting I had to twist the string another 10 twists to maintain the riser height and re-snug the limb bolts but that's to be expected with it being new and getting broken in. I am using no sights, shooting by feel. This bow has made that quite easy as it shoots consistent for me. I use it for target and for hunting, I got the 45lb draw. Lightweight, looks great, shoots great. Everyone that sees it thinks it was more expensive than it was. Thanks guys.

Overall Fairley well made on the important parts: limbs look straight; they secure to the riser straight and solid; string looks like it's well made. No obvious imperfections that would cause it to function poorley. However it draws a bit over 40 lbs @28. The not so important things. Part of the staining on the riser is a bit washed out/faded. Like it was stained before final sanding then sanded a bit too much. A bit more important the string knocks are not sharp but could have been sanded in much better. Will see if it weares on the string. I'm hesitant to work on them due to warrantee. I'm shooting Easton tribute aluminum 1816 arrows with a 125gn point. Three 4" feathers. 31-1/4 inch long shaft. 453.2 gn total weight. These shoot very well with a brace height of 7-5/8" and the center of the arrow knock at 7/8" above the shelf. I settled at that brace height because it seemed to vibrate the least there. Cat whiskers installed afterwards really quieted it down. I measured the draw weight four times at 28" and got pounds: 43.68; 43.58; 43.44. At my drawl length of 26.5" I got four measurements at pounds: 39.94; 40.20; 40.5; 39.94. Granted my scale is a hand held battery operated device that hasn't been certified by the department of weights and measures and a two pound difference in listed and measured drawl weight isn't bad so I'm not considering this a problem.

This is the BEST and ONLY good bow on Amazon. No Bella and whistles . Solid shot. Better than ANY COMPOUND OR RECURVE ON AMAZON. And I have tried and broke atleast 4 that I bought from Amazon. YOU CAN HUNT WITH THIS!!

Really nice bow. We got this bow to become our fishing bow, and it is all that is advertised to be. Works very well, is great for beginners, has a very smooth draw and is comfortable at 35 lbs. to hold for just a second longer while looking at those carp and stingrays. It's also very pretty if that is a category for archery, who doesn't want their bow to look great.

After a bit of research I decided to spend $96 on this bow, with the most convincing review from Shatterproof Archery (YouTube). I went with a 30 lb draw weight based on my physical stature -- I weigh 150 lb and spend a decent amount of time in the gym. If you're not regularly doing upper body exercises including back and shoulders, you may want to go with a lighter draw weight. This is my entry into the world of archery and, without any formal training or experience on other bows, can say I am very pleased with the purchase. I think it's important to emphasize how limited my experience is but also how much enjoyment I'm getting out of this small investment. By following simple instructions online I was able to assemble the bow and calibrate the riser height. I then paid the archery expert at Sportsman's Warehouse to set up the nocking point and help with arrow selection. While I'm sure there are better bows out there for a little more money, this is what I could afford and have no regrets. I'm getting good exercise with the bow and enjoying a stress relieving activity in the outdoors. Check with local law enforcement about laws regarding archery within city limits of where you live! Insane value for money. Feels, good, looks good and shoots good! Some say string is junk, others say it is fine. I like a flemish twist string so I replaced it without even shooting the stock string. One thing I want to pass on is that these Black Hunter bows are available from a variety of brand names and I thought they were all the same sans some having a logo and others not, however this one at least is different! While shopping for a second set of limbs in a different weight, I noticed that the limbs on this bow are square cut on the bottom of the limb where it bolts on to the riser, whereas all of the others that I have found are notched and notched differently on the top and the bottom limb. Looking into this anomaly now, but I am concerned that finding replacement limbs may prove difficult on this particular offering so keep that in mind!

This is a very nice shooting bow. However, mine has developed several very concerning cracks through the laminations which line up with the limb bolt on both top and bottom. This is only a 40# model, so not alot of stress on the riser. If I could contact the manufacturer, I would, however, I do not see that option.

I have bought seven black hunter bows. Five recurve, two longbow. Five are from Glurak. Most came in a couple of pounds under draw weight ordered. E.G., 45lbs came at 42.5lbs @ 28" draw. 30lbs came in at 27lbs @28". Measured on a bow scale. Exchanged One 40lbs that came in a little too low, but was fully functional. I make my own d97 flemish twist stings for them. It's super easy. Check out Shatterproof Archery on YouTube. I love these Glurak Black Hunters. Way better than the price point. I can afford any bow I want, and shoot these because they simply work, and I can have spares in case of equipment damage. Also, I don't worry about carrying them through thick terrain, or packing them in pieces. I won't cry if I scratch them. They seem durable. Haven't damaged one yet. I buy an entire bow to get different draw weights. Returned one because the limb pin hole was drilled off centre. Ever so slightly, but Amazon is amazing for returns. I have Black Hunters with Maple limbs, but I prefer the bamboo for sure. I still can't decide if I like longbow or recurve better. Thousands of arrows through each, and love both styles. I shoot 100% instinctive. Brace height does matter on these, so play around with it. It will effect consistency/noise/vibration. Stock string is usable and works O.K. The stringer works. Use it to save limbs from twist. I actually really like the arm guard. I stopped using my expensive one for it. Works and you almost don't know it's there. Really fun, functional, easy to shoot bows that depending on your skill and draw weight will do whatever you want. No need to upgrade. Start with lower poundage than you think and buy a stronger one later on if you're a hunter. I use a 26lbs one every other day and 43lbs for my heavier work. I can shoot for hours with low weight. Heavier, and shoulders get exhausted and take days to rest and recover. I've adapted to different bows and arrow weights for instinctive shooting. An advantage of this price point. Buy one, super fun, and great exercise. 100% recommend.

It’s a very good quality bow for the price, smooth draw and feel. 35LBS is perfect, powerful but still easy to draw and hold steady.

Bow arrived packaged in such a way that I don't believe even throwing it at my door would do it any damage. Once opened I was amazed at how beautiful the riser was. I was expecting a lighter silver-gray, but the deep, smoky black stunned me! It was better than I could have imagined. Limbs were wrapped separately from each other and then elastically tied to ensure no bouncing around to damage the matte black finish.

I’ve had the bow a year now and it has held up great. It looks very nice shoots very nice and is in like new condition a year later. At this price point I couldn’t recommend it more.

I got this thinking it was a scam or will only last for 6 months of shooting. It’s been 2 years. It’s a quality bow for a good price. I would definitely recommend for beginners.
