Lasted me almost exactly 3 years of abuse.
This badge holder lasted me almost exactly 3 years of security use and abuse, between the whole reel getting popped off my belt, getting caught on stuff and constant use for door entry, likely 100 doors a day. It finally broke the cable, right at the connection to the badge holder. 10/10 would recommend, and Iโm ordering another immediately. Ordered April 25 2023, finally broke April 14 2026.

Great rectract, semi untrustworthy clip
The retractable cable is braided steel. Very durable. Holds cards in place even if you turn it upside down and shake it hard. The clip however is cheaper and does get loose.

Does The Job
Iโve only been using it for a few weeks now, but it seems durable. I donโt have a lot of keys on the ring, but the retractability seems like it would handle quite a few more on it. I have just my ID in the holder, and it holds it securely. I have had it unhook from my belt on a few occasions, but it seems secure the majority of time. So far, it seems worth the expense.

Solid Material, But Clip Holders Not Sturday
I like this because it's a metal material and feels more solid than some of the smaller ones you can get. I like that my ID card will be okay in this solid protective case.Unfortunately, not as sturdy as it looks. As I was pulling something out of my pocket, the ID holder came unclipped from my pants. When it hit the ground (less than 36 inches) the clip broke off. The clip itself is made of metal, but the piece that holds the clip on is plastic. So when it hit the small plastic pieces broke off and the clip would not reattach.With everything still intact and how much I like this product, I gorilla glued the clip back into place and Im sure it will keep it for quite a while.Again, great product looks manly and cool. But would really redesign the clip holder. (Possibly add a D-ring option.)

Great overall, but long term durability could be improved
Great and durable, no issues with badge holder, but unfortunately over time the retractable cable is slightly bent and gets stuck so the badge holder dangles lower.
