I washed in hot soapy water, and then filled the molds with water and microwaved as instructions say to remove the odor. The odor went away, and is not an issue. **Q: Do these leave a flavor or scent on the baked goods?** A: I have used these a few times and have not had any issues. I can't speak for every one of them. But so far have not had issues. The molds are excellent for use in chocolate as you can see from the images I posted. Read the reviews and I disagree with others reviews about quality of these items. Use the freezer to stiffen your molds and do a couple thin layers and then put in the freezer again. After five min. Push from the bottom and they will invert and create perfection. Only regret is not getting these earlier. Did not have issue of roundness like others had stated. Maybe there method. Would buy again and pay twice the price. Can’t wait to use some more. Great assortment of sizes. A++ plus. I did not receive these free or anything else. Wish I could get on that list and review kitchen items as I am a retired chef turned engineer.
