I had a few guests visiting over the holidays and needed an extra mattress for my friend to sleep on. Air mattresses tend to deflate on me over the night and thought this could be a better alternative. I purchased the Native Nest Japanese Floor Mattress and was pleasantly surprised, as most foam mattresses have a smell for a couple days after first opening. This one did not smell! I tried the mattress out for a night and found it comfortable for sleeping so close to the floor. The core, deep, and REM sleep metrics from my watch also showed that I got a good night’s sleep. Summary: - Fairly comfortable to sleep on for something being directly on the floor (I slept on it, with the mattress laying on a rug). - The mattress foam did not smell. - Its slim profile makes it easy to store under another bed when not being used. - It doesn’t deflate like an air mattress with air temperate changes.
