Rhysand. No notes.
A COURT OF THORNS AND ROSES Feyre is a human huntress struggling to keep her family alive. After killing a wolf in the woods, she is taken across the wall into Prythian by Tamlin—a powerful High Fae who is very attractive, occasionally furry and unsurprisingly hiding quite a lot of information. This begins with Beauty and the Beast vibes before becoming something much darker and more dangerous. I really enjoyed discovering Prythian alongside Feyre. The courts, the magic and the fae politics create such a vivid world, and you can feel that Sarah J. Maas has only shown us a tiny portion of it. The second half becomes almost impossible to put down. Feyre’s strength isn’t based on magical abilities or fighting experience—she survives through determination, stubbornness and her refusal to abandon the people she loves. A brilliant introduction to the series and an easy five stars!!! A COURT OF MIST AND FURY ACOMAF is the book where everything CHANGES—and it remains one of my favourite fantasy books EVER!!! Feyre survived the events of the first book, but survival has left its mark. She’s traumatised, lost and attempting to squeeze herself back into a life that no longer fits her. Then an old bargain pulls her towards the Night Court—and RHYSAND—where secrets are revealed, new friendships are formed and Feyre begins to understand that healing doesn’t mean returning to the person she was before. I loved EVERYTHING about this. The character development, the found family, the banter, the slow-burn romance and the fact that the love story is built around somebody encouraging Feyre to discover her own strength. And RHYSAND. No notes. Solid book-husband material. Possibly the NUMBER ONE book husband of all time!!! This book is SO much better than the first one and is where the ACOTAR series really starts to take shape. An absolute favourite and obviously five HUGE stars!!! A COURT OF WINGS AND RUIN WAR has arrived, alliances must be formed and Feyre has officially run out of patience for everybody’s nonsense!!! The beginning was frustrating. I wanted Feyre back in the Night Court ASAP. But we get there eventually. I loved seeing more of the different courts and their rulers. The political meeting alone contains enough tension, insults and general chaos to sustain an entire book 😂 This book also demonstrates exactly why the found family is so special. Every character has something to lose, and the loyalty between them completely destroyed me. The final section had my heart racing and then thoroughly broke it. One of my favourites in the series and another enormous five-star read!!! A COURT OF FROST AND STARLIGHT Basically, the ACOTAR Christmas special!!! After the emotional destruction of ACOWAR, I genuinely appreciated spending some quieter time with these characters while they rebuilt their homes, exchanged presents and attempted to process everything that had happened. Is there an enormous amount of plot? No. Do you even NEED to read this one? Probably not—but why would you not?! It begins setting up the emotional struggles and future storylines of several characters—particularly Nesta—so it isn’t entirely festive fluff. A cosy little bridge between the larger books and five stars from me because I would happily read about the Inner Circle completing their weekly food shop. A COURT OF SILVER FLAMES Nesta Archeron is angry, traumatised and determined to push away anybody who tries to help her. Unfortunately for her, Cassian is equally stubborn and absolutely refuses to be frightened off. I know Nesta is divisive, but I loved that her healing journey wasn’t neat or particularly likeable. Trauma doesn’t always make people quietly sad. Sometimes it makes them furious, destructive and almost impossible to reach. The female friendships in this book are EVERYTHING. Watching Nesta, Gwyn and Emerie train together, support each other and create their own version of family was one of my favourite parts of the entire series. Then we have Cassian. Funny, loyal, patient and built like an actual wall. We love to see it!!! He’s also more my type physically than Rhysand. Actually, HE might be my number-one book husband! This is heavier and considerably spicier than the previous books—some of which made me feel a bit ick, if I’m honest. But alas... we shall all keep our hands on the headboard until further notice. Five stars!!!

A Romantasy Series That Lived Up to the Hype
I finally picked up the A Court of Thorns and Roses series after hearing about it everywhere and I can confidently say it deserves the praise. Sarah J. Maas creates an immersive world filled with magic, political intrigue, unforgettable characters and emotional storytelling that only gets better with each book. The first book is a solid introduction with a Beauty and the Beast-inspired storyline, but it's really A Court of Mist and Fury that completely changed the game for me. The character development, slow-burn romance, emotional healing, and found family dynamics were incredible. Every relationship felt meaningful, and I became deeply invested in the entire Inner Circle. What I loved most was how each book expanded the world and gave the characters room to grow. The emotional moments hit hard, the banter was excellent, and I found myself laughing, crying, and staying up way too late because I couldn't stop reading. My only reason for not giving the overall series a perfect score is that the first book starts a bit slowly, and the pacing occasionally drags in places. That said, every book builds toward something bigger, and the payoff is absolutely worth it.

A must read for everyone!
If you are new to fantasy or if you are an avid fantasy reader, this series will stay with you either way! I was hooked from the first chapter of the first book and found myself in the biggest book hangover by the end. Fae, war, romance and magic - I mean what more could you want from a book?!

Brilliant series that had me completely absorbed!
I really enjoyed this series! I had never heard of this author until she kept coming up on TikTok videos. I love fantasy books, so I decided to give these a try. I was hooked within a few pages of ACOTAR and have been completely absorbed in the story for almost the entire box set. Every single book had me exhausted as I couldn't put them down and I read late into the night. The depth of characters and the world building is just enough that you feel each court, each person and each relationship come alive as you read along. The first book had me loving then hating Tamlin, Rhysand too, and I've enjoyed seeing Nesta's personality explaned as her charactor grew in ACOSF. I laughed and cried along the way as each character blossomed and grew page by page. I'm not sure what happened with ACOFAS, it was a bit boring, but I read it anyway. It doesn't really add anything to the rest of the story, so you could easily skip it and you wouldn't miss anything important. I 100% recommend these books, especially if you like a little bit of smut mixed in with your fantasy books! I found myself genuinely disappointed when I finished the last book, I hope there is another one! I've bought every book SJM has written because I've enjoyed these immensely and am about to start of Throne Of Glass. I hope they live up to my expectations!

Epic Series You Can't Put Down
A read these books on my kindle but had to have the boxed set for my library. I thoroughly enjoyed each book individually, and can't recommend the entire series strongly enough. I finished the entire five-book A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas and I can honestly say this became one of the most immersive fantasy worlds I’ve read in years. What begins as a Beauty and the Beast-inspired fantasy quickly evolves into something much larger — political intrigue, war, found family, trauma, healing, sacrifice, and some of the most emotionally satisfying character arcs I’ve encountered in fantasy romance. Each book expands the world in ways that feel richer and more dangerous, while still keeping the emotional core deeply personal. The strength of this series is not just the romance — although the chemistry and tension are exceptional — it’s the way the characters evolve through grief, power, loyalty, and survival. The friendships and chosen family dynamics were just as compelling to me as the romantic relationships. I became completely invested in these characters. The writing is cinematic and addictive. There were moments that genuinely shocked me, scenes that made me emotional, and chapters I stayed up far too late reading because I couldn’t stop. The pacing across the series builds beautifully, especially from book two onward, where the story truly becomes unforgettable. If you enjoy fantasy with strong heroines, morally gray characters, political tension, emotional depth, romance, and high stakes, this series absolutely lives up to the hype. By the end, it felt less like finishing a book series and more like leaving behind a world I had lived inside for weeks. Highly recommended for fans of epic fantasy romance.
