Hello - yes there are 5 in a pack.

In the photo the scare eye is mounted to siding. What was used for this mounting and where can I purchase it?

I have no idea where they got this mounting. I used a similar mounting that I found at the home supply store and slightly modified for my use. I used an epoxy to attach them to the house.

Do they outsmart crows?

Crows were the reason these were purchased. The crows were pulling squash, cucumber, & sweet corn plants. In addition to the reflective scare medallions a pair of Owls with swivel heads were purchased. Can't say for sure which item kept the crows out of the garden, but the nasty birds stayed away perched in a tree and made a lot of noise and continue to announce their disapproval.
