I don't return anything I buy online because I think it is always a hassle and I only get more frustrated. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice for Lightweight Items *by S***E on May 26, 2024* I’ve never enjoyed wearing a backpack. Typically I’m carrying items that I may wish to access easily and it is not so convenient to remove a backpack to reach its contents. I much prefer carrying sling bags. Not only can I reach into them more easily, but I can keep a closer eye on it in areas where pickpockets may be present. I can swing the bag around to my back in safe areas, then can slide it around to wear it in front, under my arm, in high-crime zones. I’m also a DIY’er. Even if an item isn’t designed for carrying via sling, I like adapting it so it can be easily carried. I have a very nice, expensive folding umbrella that I like keeping with me, but it has no carry strap or even ring to attach a lanyard. There are also times I’d like to bring my umbrella, but don’t want to carry an extra bag. So I used a strip of heavy, 2” nylon strapping to create a sort of holster for the umbrella. I got this strap so I can carry my umbrella, or other items, as a sling. This is a very nice strap, long enough to serve as a strap for a sling bag. The nylon strap is narrow, only 3/4” width, but is a nice, fine, slick and feels great. I also like the smokey dark shiny nickel hardware. The clasps are on swivel hooks (nice!) and includes a 1 1/4” split ring. However, there are a couple of details to be aware of. First thing I noticed that the strap is narrow without any sort of shoulder cushioning, so would be most appropriate for a smaller, lightweight bag. Next, if one doesn’t need a long strap, then it would be helpful to have a loop that keeps the long straps together (see pic). Not a big deal for me, I’ll simply take a bit of nylon and make one for myself. How’s the price? Having purchased nylon webbing and associated hardware before, I know that if I were to try to make this myself, I’d have to pay more than the list price of $14.99. Really too bad it didn’t arrive with the loop of webbing to hold the strap together. A very simple, inexpensive addition would have made this five stars. As it is, four stars.
