very please with my purchase
I've had a Black and Decker battery strimmer for a while now and it's ok for a small garden but not very powerful, the battery was struggling to charge properly so I'd debated for a week or two whether to upscale as the Black and Decker was about ยฃ50, but I saw a special offer on this strimmer ยฃ79.99, it is the bare unit with no batteries but fortunately I have a worx drill that takes the same batteries and I have 2 x1.2ah and 2 x 2.0ah spare batteries. the strimmer needs 2 batteries to run, one on each side of the unit. it takes about 10 mins to put the pieces together a couple of screws here and there nothing that a novice couldn't do. I popped the 1.2ah ones into the strimmer and off we went, wow straight away you can notice the power difference. This thing goes through brambles and nettle stems very easily unlike the Black and Decker strimmer which used to struggle with some of the thicker weeds, it's very powerful when the fully charged batteries are first placed into the unit as they reduce in power then you can tell the difference in cutting strength, but this would be the same for any battery-powered tool. I would say it could do with a shoulder strap to take a bit of the weight if you've been using it for 30mins you know you have, don't get me wrong it's not very heavy but if you stand holding anything for 30 mins it gets heavy. A little bit of info in regards to the batteries. I'd suggest buying a twin charger or sometimes as I do, take the single charger to work and charge 2 batteries independently there so they are ready when you need them. The 1.2ah batteries are not so good with this unit it drained them pretty quickly (maybe 15 mins) but the 2.0ah batteries last about 25 - 30 mins which is plenty of time for me to do my front, back, and side lawns. (edges and strimming the grass length). I think you can get a twin charger and 2 x 3.0ah battery deal online which would be even better. always remember that once the batteries are dead you will have to wait 3-4 hrs for them to recharge so plan ahead. there are multiple compatible batteries on the market, quality wise I'm not sure how good they are but with anything like this, that takes batteries it's always prudent if you can afford it to buy spares. my final comments are:- if you can get this package as a whole deal, unit, charger, and 2 batteries for around ยฃ150 I would definitely buy it. at ยฃ79.99 for me, it was an absolute bargain. it's a definite upgrade from my black and decker one this feels more competent and an actual 'proper' landscapers piece of equipment.

Amazing
What a quality bit of kit this Strimmer is. I wasnโt sure if it would be an upgrade from my smaller WORX Strimmer but is in a different league. Amazing, makes the job 100% easier. Adjustable Hight and the batteries are always good with the WORX devices. And no need to deal with cables or petrol. Worth every panny!!!

Great Product, better than rivals
I had previously had a Black & Decker Strummer, when it failed I replaced it with the same item. I had to return it as change in the design made it very difficult for me to use as the batter position meant it was cutting into my arm and was also very heavy. I turned to Worx as I already had two Worx Robot Lawnmowers and was really happy with them, in particular the after sales support. The machine is incredibly lightweight which at first made me doubt what the performance might be like. Happy to say very pleased with it, strims really well and evenly and great for doing edges. Bonus for me was that it shares the same battery as other Works products so am now expanding my tools within the Worx range.

Good for existing batteries... and small gardens.
I already had a mower that used the same dual batteries, so this was a great option. I would be under powered in a big garden, but for simple edging etc. it's a perfect solution. Nice and light, so easy to use. It's well constructed and seems to use little battery power for the jobs I've done with it so far.
