It has Good Bones
Update: The hum is gone after adjusting the height of the pickups. Now it is perfect or as close as it gets to perfect. I would get another one if I ever lost this one. Update: Just got the replacement and it is almost perfect. This one is a keeper. Low Action, no fret buzz. no spots in the paint, no dings or nicks. The only issue is a very very very low volume hum coming through the amp if I'm NOT touching the strings. It goes away once you touch the strings or any metal point on the guitar. I would say a slight grounding issue. Got the Blue and it looked really good. The action was low and great out of the box and only 1 fret on the low E was a tad high, it buzzed, would be an easy fix. The sound from the Neck Pickup was good but the bridge pickup is dead. Check wiring etc. but all OK. Did a return and have a new one on the way. It's on the heavy side, didn't weight it but I would say 7-9 lb guitar and priced for beginners who shouldn't have an issue with the action if mine was an example, but also a good guitar for any level of player. This guitar has good bones so it could be a real beast with a few upgrades. Can't wait to get my replacement.

Amazed is understatement
Been playing guitar for over 30 years. I have owned every brand, just about. I have Gibson Les Pauls currently, but I don’t like taking them out of my home to teach lessons or gig for many reasons. I decided to try these because I love the feel and sound of a Les Paul and the other reviews left made me feel comfortable to give these a try with the price point. Here’s my HONEST review, I’m not a shrew for Grote or the Chinese government. Packing: initial thought was no way this guitar is intact. I’m used to more protective packaging, but the guitar came in a gig bag and was not broken. Out of the box: Finish was beautiful!! No scratches, cracks, cloudy areas….nothing. No sprouting frets or any sharpness. Neck felt perfect and fast. Strings were loose but not completely slacked, just enough tension. Initial playing: tuned guitar to E standard, tuners were not as tight with the turns, but I’m also picky about that. Tuned up and it stayed in tune. Checked intonation and it was spot on, which shocked me. Others have said they had buzzing initially, I had none. I had already ordered a replacement nut because of those comments and now it won’t be needed. All 3 pickup positions worked perfectly and as they should. Tried out the guitar for 10 minutes of heavy riffing and wood shedding with aggressive bends and what not. After that 10 minutes, the guitar was only ever slightly out of tune, no different than any of my American made Gibsons, Fenders, or Paul Reed Smiths would be. Final INITIAL analysis: for this price point, this is a steal. Feels and plays WAY better than any Epiphone I have ever owned. I’m going to give their ES-335 copy a try next and I’ll probably pick one or two more of these. I’ll be using these for my teaching lessons and gigging from now on.

Nice guitar, at any price.
Great Guitar, not just for the price. With a guitar that costs less than $200, I was skeptical of the quality. I've been impressed by the quality of Leo Jaymz guitars (another budget brand) so I took a chance on a Grote LP style. Ive been playing it for a few days now and can report it's a really good guitar. It's a little on the heavy side, as a LP should be, and overall just a great sounding and playing instrument. The tuners, and the rest of the hardware don't feel cheap and the guitar stays in tune as well as my Gibson LP. The "flame top" is a printed veneer, but it looks nice both up close and from a distance. The neck is the most important part of the guitar for me and the neck on this one is great. Glossy back, 60's profile, and stainless steel ball end frets are flawless, smooth, and well polished. Only a small truss rod adjustment was needed for a perfect setup. The action and intonation were set perfectly at the factory. The pickups are ceramic and sound good with the bridge pickup measuring 11k resistance and 10k on the neck pickup. Would definitely buy again and highly recommend.

Beautiful
The Guitar Solid Body Electric Guitar with Gigbag LPYS-006 (TS) looks absolutely beautiful. I could not find a flaw in appearance. Its a two piece of Mahogany wood body, the neck and head also Mahogany. Fret board is Rosewood, very nice. Tuners work nicely, I wouldn't replace them they hold tune well. The strings not great, I replaced. The Nut appears to be Bone as I see grain lines in the side under direct sunlight. There is absolutely no fret bite at all, however the set-up was not so great. The neck had a bulge upwards in the middle as the truss rod adjustment was incorrect as well as string height to high. I removed the strings, adjusted the truss rod to where the neck was straight and installed new strings,(10s) Putting some string tension little by little adjusted the truss rod slightly. When I sight down the neck with strings tuned it looks very straight. Then lowered the saddle and string height. .060 height on the 1st and .065 on the 6th string. The two bridge post were loose but tightened up fine. Saddle post were tight but I lowered the action. The intonation on 6,5 &4 were close but the intonation on 3,2 &1 were quite far off, all needed adjustment but they came in nicely. The fret work was all flat and straight, once I straightened out the neck. Pick-ups sound pretty good to me and not microphonic. The pots or adjustment knobs seem to have a decent range, I am leaving them. The top of the guitars grain appears to be a high quality graphic print on a substrate and the same clear finish applied over it as the rest of the entire guitar, but it looks great. The grain pattern is 100% identical to the the ad photo. I lowered one star for for overall performance and one star for beginners as the factory set-up was poor and a beginner may of had issues playing it as it was. THIS Guitar has good bones!! and nothing other than the strings were replaced. It's a lot of guitar for the money!!!

bought with thoughts of upgrades. Not necessary!
This is an awesome guitar for the price. after receiving it I was concerned about the warmth of the neck pickup. I am used to cranking the volume up on all my pickup volume and tone. lol, come to find out from review videos, (I watched after receiving). I discovered i had to turn the volume of the neck pup t down due to the out put of the pup. it's actually a lil' over 10k output and bridge is a lil' over 11k output. the neck is warm and beautiful sounding, but with that much out put on my setup, it was toooo overpowering and muddy so I have to turn the volume of the neck pup down especially with my distortion pedal active and with that she sounds beautiful, so beware of the neck output, lol. other than that, beautiful looks, setup and sound from both pickups. all I had to do out of the box was tune it and condition the fretboard. I like a natural back of neck so I sanded and conditioned it to my liking. But Yeah, great product, love playing it and everything about it. it has been stated in comments that the "natural flamed maple top is a picture" and to my viewing, it is. there is No 3D appearance maple gives off, so it isn't even a veneer but still ALMOST as beautiful and the guitar it self is definitely worth the money. the body is mahogany and after sanding off the finish and conditioning it, the neck is the new standard of mahogany and a 3 piece so accidental breakage of the headstock is unlikely. GREAT GUITAR! Definitely would recommend for beginners to professional looking for comfortable, fun, low price very well setup guitar. by the way it came with a string hight of barely above 2mm, PERFECT for me, fun and comfortable to play and looks and sounds beautiful and stays in tune. no real need for any upgrades really (which is why I buy lower end guitars to begin with), lol. VREY HAPPY!

INCREDIBLE VALUE!!! GORGEOUS INSTRUMENT!!!!!!!!!
I am absolutely DUMBFOUNDED at how utterly fantastic this instrument is for the money!! I'll list out specifics about it below: 1. Fretboard and frets - the frets are BALL ended meaning they are perfectly smooth, and i simply cannot believe it for this price. Not even on very expensive guitars do you see this. The frets are all perfectly level. The neck is straight and perfect. The action is very low and it has near zero buzzing at such a low string height. It does buzz very slightly at standard tuning, but thats easy to fix with a bit of a turn on the bridge. It will only require a very tiny adjustment. The neck is a touch dry but a bit of neck conditioning oil is going to fix that easily. The back of the neck is gloss finished, but it's smooth and not grippy. 2. Finish and weight - the color i ordered, antique sunburst... it's perfect. It's so beautiful. I'm very happy with this colour. The weight is solid, not overly heavy and it's balanced. 3. Pickups - they sound great. I think they might actually be wax potted. 4. Tuners - very stable and steady. High quality for the money. 5. Strings - they are not bad at all, and i don't even feel the need to replace them immediately. I expected them to be very bad based on others comments but they are actually good. 6. Accessories - they include a cord and an allen wrench. Crazy value. The case, while yes of course it feels a bit cheap, it has padding! And I don't care if it feels cheap! It's there to protect the guitar and it has pockets. I have no complaints about the case at all. In summary, I can't believe I got such an incredible guitar for such a low amount spent. This is unreal. The design on this guitar will look good in any genre. If you wanted to modify it you could, but even i bought a graphtech tusq nut to change it to, and I'm not really even sure if i want to mess with the guitar at all. It's just so perfect.

An amazing guitar desecrated by the unholy machinations of Amazon Resale
I would give this guitar 5 stars if I could and when I receive a replacement I probably will, but until I have that replacement I will review what I got. All-in-all, great guitar. Body and finish is BEAUTIFUL. Construction is solid, fittings are perfect, frets and pearl are flawless. However, I wanted to not have to wait was at that time 2 months, and grabbed the one Purple they had on resale. Like New - Still In Original Packaging, arrives in 5 days. Invoice says Condition is Mint. Cool! Somebody probably bought two on accident and sent the extra back in. 20 dollar discount. Hell yeah. NO, DEAR READER. NOT HELL YEAH. ONLY HELL. I would have taken pictures but I'll spare you the guitar gore. First and foremost - I knew this was taken out of packaging and used because the strings were not packed properly and the foam wrap around the guitar was badly torn and haphazardly shoved back around, so no, not original packaging. High E string was wound so tightly it snapped when I tried to gently de-tune it. All the other strings were clearly attempted at being put in tune, but wound way too tightly. This was done by the previous owner, as no guitar maker will ever ship a guitar out tuned like that. When the string snapped, I decided to just take all the strings off to check the pickups, as one was loose and the other was inserted at a strange angle. When the strings were off and I went to take out the pickups, I realized the neck pickup was just entirely loose inside its slot, not mounted at all, and all the screws were stripped. However had this before me went ham on the poor mounting screws with a screwdriver way too large and didn't consider that their actions will get them judged harshly when they inevitably face whatever god they worship. I get the pickup mounts unscrewed, check the bottoms, they seem fine, but then I notice something - there was absolutely no resistance when I turned them over from the wires. I look down - and they are cut. Cleanly. Cut. Both Pickups. Neck and Bridge. Their cables are cut. They are just sitting in there not connected to anything. This wasn't torn out or ripped. Clean Cuts. Somebody intentionally snipped the cables in this guitar. I can handle everything else, it's all just routine stuff and I was planning on replacing the strings and most of the electronics anyway, but I refuse to be a part of whatever profane ritual this poor instrument was subjected to by whatever maniac is the reason this thing was in Amazon Resale in the first place. Buy new, kids. The guitar is amazing and I'd honestly buy this just for the body itself. It's gorgeous, especially for this price point, but no. No no no no. You take back your cursed relic, Amazon.

Fret Problems with this one
The guitar itself is pretty solid. after being worked on. It's a decent guitar that gives Epiphone a run for their money. The problem was that it came with the frets in a terrible mess. someone tried to level the frets with what looked like 80 grit. It was cut a bit too deep, so I had to take a lot of fret off when I leveled them. It still had a lot of fret left, so it's in really great shape now. I don't know how the pickups sound, I changed them immediately, but I can tell you that it appears that the only real problem with them is they are not wax potted. That's the reason they squeal so much in other reviews. And they are true humbuckers, not single coils in a humbucker shell. And yes, I did take them apart to see. Everything else with the guitar is top notch, great bridge and tuners. If you know how to work on guitars, it's a real gem. I have dozens of Gibson Les Paul's come through my shop all the time and this compares similar in feel and playability. The only difference I can feel is the neck heel seem to be a bit larger, which makes the upper frets harder to play.

仕上げと音質とkakakuga
この値段でこの仕上げと音質!!! ソリッド材のボディーで加工工数を減らし、やや重いですが、良い質感です。 「Grote」のメーカーとしての姿勢に共感しています!
