I was a little skeptical ordering a 3rd party product like this. Usually I do not have good results with these items. Yet I have to say I was actually amazed. This power supply works as intended. I was worried when I saw a 3 prong opening on the power cord (considering the plugin on the adapter was two prongs). Yet I plugged this into my xbox 360 (yes the original white one not the slim) and it powered on first try. I've been using this for several hours and it works great. I am really impressed with the locking feature it has where the end plugs into the back of the xbox360. That's a nice feature that more cables like this should have. So in summary. This power adapter works great and the the price you can't beat it. If by some chance this goes out I will not hesitate to get another one.

Saved Christmas for my 8 year-old son. Purchased a refurbished Xbox 360 from game stop because we are just diving into the gaming world with him. We could not understand why the system kept shutting down until my nephew came and told us about the red circle of death. Oh just what I wanted to hear with my sons eyes filling with tears holding on to his batarang controller...Feverishly looked on Amazon for a replacement Power Adapter and found OrtzGames which sent us the green light for fun - thank god and thank you, nice green and yellow so far and a happy 8 year old playing Lego Dimensions. Thanks also for describing that this is for the original Xbox 360 and not the slim, etc. just what we needed, just in time.

The fan in this adapter are about as noisy as the mid speed fan setting in the fat Xbox. You may notice it if you've done a RROD fix (like I did) and your system now runs on low most of the time. Otherwise it won't bother you. Also it takes a little longer to shut down than the OEM. It's not a problem, just letting people know. I would recommend this.

I ordered a refurbished / used Xbox 360 from Gamestop. It arrived and immediately red ringed! Needless to say I was not happy. On a whim I took it over to a friends house and the console fired right up! I tested his unit with my power supply and red ring! I ordered this unit and it runs my console perfectly!

Best case scenario...this power supply is "luck of the draw". Contrary to the other positive reviews (which seem a little fishy...more on that later) I just received one of these units and it heats up so hot it is literally too hot to touch after just a few moments. It feels like you could fry an egg on this thing...or use it as a space heater in the winter time! I'd be afraid of it starting a contact fire if left on a carpet for too long. Even worse is the fact that while it works ok while navigating the 360 OS, it will NOT work for more than a few minutes when playing a game. After 5-15 minutes (it seems variable) it will cause the system to shut down and display the dreaded 3 Red Rings AKA "Red Rings of Death". Thankfully this is not a permanent death situation as the system can be physically turned off and then back on. The 3 Red Rings became synonymous with dying/dead 360s, but that actual "error" function is to indicate a "General Hardware Failure" which may or may not be fatal to the unit. In this case it seems the power supply is the culprit and is heating up so much that it might be throwing off stable voltage/wattage to the 360 which is causing it to shut down. Unfortunately, this problem occurs every single time when trying to play games, so this power supply is useless (and potentially a fire hazard). If I give the seller the benefit of the doubt (and believe the rather dubious reviews which all read like they were written by the same person), it looks like best case scenario is I just got a lemon. Hey, it happens. But, if you plan on buying one these units you should be aware that the "reviews" here seem a little weird...and that the unit I received is a piece of junk. So, buyer beware. After I return this one for a refund I won't be buying another. I already ordered a new OEM unit direct from Microsoft for only $2 more. No more knock-offs with zero quality control for me.

This item was much needed as my original AC adapter died. I was hoping that it was not the Xbox 360. Fortunately, this is exactly what I needed. I could not find a used one local and I was not sure I wanted a used one any way. How long was that going to last? I am sure myself and my sons will get enough continued enjoyment out of my Xbox 360 to cover the cost of the AC adapter.

It worked initially but after very minimal use, the power supply stopped working. Now when I try and turn the Xbox 360 on, the little orange light on the supply itself dims and nothing happens. It has probably less than 50 hours total on it and it has already stopped working. I will not buy again.

I bought this mainly to use as a power supply for the Xbox One (with a converter cable, of course). Other reviews said that this unit would work with an Xbox One, but the one I received didn't. It works fine with an Xbox 360, which is its intended use, so I am giving it 3 stars.
