Big improvement so far over v1
I liked v1's features generally - it worked well with homekit and my thread network - but it was a pain in the ass to hook up and it would leak constantly due to the cheap plastic and shallow threads at the connection point. V2 solves these issues - the threads on at least one side are metal and deep enough to be sturdy, and it's easier to grip and turn/tighten. It didnt leak at all when I connected it. If the rest of the features hold up and are as good as v1, then this is basically the perfect DIY watering automation device.

Cannot recommend this product
I have had such great success with all of the other Eve products that I was excited to add the water valve to my smart home gear. Promises of long battery life, superior range (compared to WiFi) and broad compatibility with Matter over Thread, sign me up.Outcome, I would not buy this product again. Everything was great except for build quality. This is the second one that I purchased and they both have failed. Customer service was poor on my first experience and I ended up returning the valve to Amazon because I couldn’t get Eve customer service to help me. Chocking up the first product failure to build defect, I bought a second one. The product worked great for the 2024 summer. I turned on the sprayer today 4/24/25 to kick off watering for spring and I was met with a failed valve body, split at the injection molding seam. I am not going to bother with customer service again because it cost me time with people that I could not understand and they couldn’t fix my problem the first time.Bye Eve water products. You need better product QC and a more robust valve body.

Works well, but Matter support is late or never coming
Nice water timer, but the lack of a Matter support update so far is dissapointing. For what it does, it's expensive. If this company was super on top of software support and updated it with matter support already, and dropped the price by $50, it would be 5 stars

Sturdy & Responsive!
This new Eve Aqua is perfect! The water pressure to the front of my Dad’s house is incredibly high, so the older version of the Aqua kept falling off (due to the plastic threads that attached to the spigot not being strong enough). This new Eve Aqua is very sturdy and now has metal threads that keep it locked tight on the spigot with no problems. We’ve tested it out for over a week now and it’s still on there tight. Besides this new Aqua looking a tad snazzier than the last version, it’s also much more responsive due to the built in Thread technology. The button on the front works immediately, and using the app/Siri has also no delay as well. We are looking forward to hooking up my Dad’s sprinkler system and setting up a watering schedule so he doesn’t have to crawl under the deck every time he needs to turn on the water. At 60 it’s getting a little more difficult for him to keep crawling under there, so this is incredibly convenient for him! (PS: we’re using the old Aqua on the back of the house with lower pressure and it’s working perfectly back there with no issues!)

Kaput in less than a year!
I've had this model for less than a year. I bought it to integrate into Apple HomeKit, which it did ok at first. I disliked the EVE app off the bat, as you have to give it complete access to your Apple Home. Subsequently all of the things connected to my smart home were showing up in their app, which is unnecessary. I wanted the app only to control the device. Period. But that's not an option. Within a month it would start to lose connectivity, even though my hub is about 6' away from the unit. Then, it stopped running for the designated set time about a month ago. I had drip hoses connected to it and was set to run 30 mins a day, but began turning off after 5-10 mins. Then within the last few weeks it started leaking. I went through all of the troubleshooting steps for the above issues, but the issues remain unresolved. I've gone on to another brand!

Constant issues
Worked well for about a month, but constantly have issues with it just not working. Says it running but it’s not. Have to open and reset it to get it working again, but that’s short lived. The cheaper $40-$50 ones are much more reliable. It’s one of the most expensive ones you can buy, but worst quality.

Great Automoated valve - Needs a Thread device to connect to Apple HomeKit
I bought this to automate watering in a new garden bed. I wanted something that would work with Apple HomeKit. I previously bought some Eve magnetic door switches to monitor doors in the house. I could see those from my Apple Home and used them to trigger alerts on my phone. What I found with the Eve Aqua was that I could activate it from my phone - so long as I was within Bluetooth range. It would show on Apple Home, but only when I was near the Aqua with my phone.I read up a little on Eve's website and suspected my Apple TV was not new enough to Support thread. A conversation with Eve's tech support confirmed that. The other thing I learned was to be able to connect to HomeKit, you must have a non-battery powered Thread device to communicate with the an Eve battery powered thread device on the Thread network. I added an Eve Energy outlet switch and that did the trick. It talks to the Aqua and relays to the Apple TV. HomeKit is now happy. So it you want to automate the Aqua with your HomeKit, make sure you have compatible Thread devices to enable that communication.
