This product is remarkable! My cats (I have six) absolutely love the grass. I have 2 with long fur and it seems to be helping the hair ball problem that they have. The box is a good size for two cats at a time to munch on and has a sturdy wooden frame to hold the plastic insert which I appreciate. It was easy to set up just soak the seeds add water to mat sprinkle seeds onto mat and watch it grow. Growth rate of the seeds was amazingly quick. You can actually see the little plants growing. These are indoor cats and this seems to be satisfying their need to eat green grass and improve their health and diet. Definitely recommend this to cat owners!

This stuff is great! Works much better than the kinds that come with soil. Super easy to use, absolutely no mess. This picture is 2 weeks of growth, and I've had to trim it down once already. My cat seems to enjoy it a lot.

So far I'm loving this kit! It's very well made, and the instructions are clear and very easy. I'm only on Day 3, the uncovering phase, so I haven't actually seen the grass grow yet, but there are sprouts. I think this is a fun kit. My dog looks for wheat grass, so this is for him. But, even if he doesn't like the homegrown wheat grass, I know I'll use this kit over and over to grow sprouts and to start seeds. I love the bamboo exterior and the interior trays are very well made. As I said, the seeds have started sprouting, so I know the seeds are good too. I would not hesitate to give this as a gift—even for children, so they can watch seeds grow to grass. I'm super pleased with this purchase.

Excellent product, love the bamboo box (it's stylish and durable) and the quality of the seeds and ease of use. My cat loves this!! Mine started sprouting in 5 days to prettyi h fill grown and they keep going strong!! Azong product, well done?!!

The grass grew perfectly but after a week or so I noticed tiny little flying bugs all over/in it. Assuming due to the moisture. My cats love it so not sure if I’ll try to order a refill and do it again or find something else.

Update: The company REALLY stands by their product and I can not say enough positive things about their response. They refunded my purchase so that I can try again and I will place that order as soon as I am back from travel. Like I initially said, the product quality seems very high. And the company clearly cares a lot and has integrity. I will absolutely be placing another order. ---------- This item is very pricey compared to other cat grass kits available-basically double. Because of the reviews and my needs, I went with it and actually bought two because I have multiple cats and even a small dog that occasionally will eat the grass. Pros: The way to put it into use is written clearly, a clean process, and simple to set up. No dirt to contend with which means no dirt on my floor or in my pet's mouth when they pull the grass out. I do really like the overall look of the tray. The wood is more of a band that goes around the outside of the washable tray and I do like that for hygiene reasons-I feel like I can really scrub out the tray. It seems to be fairly well constructed, it's sturdy and not flimsy thin wood. It appears this is the same kit they would send if you were purchasing their human consumable items just labeled for pet use. The grass that did grow, grew tall and smells sweet like it should. Neutral: The varnish on the wood is not super smooth and flaking off but really that is a minor inconvenience and it is far enough away from the grass that I am not concerned for the safety of the cats. I did scratch off loose bits of the varnish flakes so that the cats don't ingest them but it left areas of now unprotected wood. Cons: The growth was not at all what was expected. It is about 30% of the seeds that sprouted and grew and I followed the instructions to a tee. I spent a long time making sure the seeds were in a single layer, they do fill the bottom nicely but just didn't sprout. I waited until now so that I was right in the temperature range for good growth too since that makes a huge difference with plants. I had the same results on both trays which makes me think it was not a singular package glitch. The refill packets are also pretty expensive so I don't know how many times I will refill it. Overall, I'm a little disappointed simply because of the price vs results. From what grew, I think there should be a few mats and seeds in the pack at this price point-that would make it worth it in my mind. Some of the cats did sniff around and pretty quickly ate down the thin sparse grass but others still went outside and ate the wild grasses that I was hoping to keep them from by growing my own.

I'm not sure if I missed an explanation somewhere, but the steps mention adding "soaked" seeds initially. You need to soak the seeds in water for about 8 hours to help them germinate. I soaked mine in a 2 cup measuring cup overnight. I messed up and had already added the water into the tray before I looked up on Google how long I should soak my seeds, so I had to soak my seeds, rinse them, and add them in the next day. I would also like to add that I have had this kit for a year and half, but only just now used it. It still was very easy to grow! No issues. My timeline: 1. Soak seeds overnight. 2. Add seeds over hemp mat. Spread flat. (I'm not sure that it was necessary to add the whole package of seeds. It was quite a lot.) 3. Cover for 3 days. (I checked them, then forget to uncover for another day.) 4. Added another cup of water. 5. Because it is winter, I used cling wrap and wood sticks to cover the grass and keep it warm in the window. 6. Two days later, I fully uncovered it. It's been growing tall after about a week and a half since first assembled. My cats like to tear it up to eat it, not chomp or cut the grass. I'm not sure if it will die earlier because of this. I'm going to water the system again today, but I haven't watered it since I uncovered it. I was very worried about over watering and mold, but I haven't had any issues. It smells good like how grass on the lawn smells. I do think sun exposure is quite important. The first sprouts were pale yellow for me and I watched them turn green the next morning in the window. *My level of sunshine was terrible. It was overcast for days and the days are short, but optimizing as much time as possible in the window helped it grow. I move my kit out of the window at night because it is quite cold out. (Below freezing.) 1/4 cats really loves the grass. He is a bottomless pit anyway and super playful. A second cat seems to like it. My cats love to eat my real plants and fake plants, so I was hoping for a bit more activity. I finally used this kit because another cat had surgery to remove an obstruction from his small intestine :( I am hoping to strengthen his gut health and the other cats. (The fat bottomless pit has the stinkiest BMs of all time so it's a win even if he is the only one snacking.)

This is such a great kit. Everything was laid out very easily and I really love that there’s no dirt involved. You allow the seeds to germinate for 3 days and then 3 more days to grow to full height. My cat did not seem interested until I put it in a different location and now she loves it. I’m thinking of getting another one so that one can be growing while the other is being eaten.
