I had a couple of old desktop hard drives sitting in a drawer and wanted to get the old photos off them. You literally just slot the bare drive into the top of this dock, plug it in via USB, and it pops up on the computer instantly. The offline clone feature is a brilliant bonus if you are upgrading a PC. It feels well built with the aluminium casing, and the built-in SD card readers are very handy to have on the desk.

good Points is that it is small and compact, includes a hard drive copy function which is helpful, however compared to the Star Trek product which was fine and the reason only for getting a new one was because it stopped working after 12 years ..the lights to confirm it is switched on and running are very dim and small compared to the last appliance I had,, also it is not possible to switch one bay on at a time when it was possible with the previous product , but there is no other faults and works well in use

Great bit of kit for easy swaping drive, formatting them copying, writing to them should have bought one yrs ago lol

Great tool for cloning hard drive on to larger straight forward to use also has a selection of card readers and usb slots on front, well made too

This is the second of these I have purchased. The first one was over 2 years ago and since then it has been used as the startup heart of my iMac (ie running the iMac off the Fideco - in this case with a Crucial SSD drive inserted). It has been very reliable but occasionally it does not want to come back to life but I have a buzillion programs and websites open at any one time so hardly surprising. Apple's IOS being what it is this presents no problem as I simply restart and all is saved. The USB ports work as expected. Cloning is an added bonus for me though have not had to do this more than once (only with the previous purchase of this enclosure)

Only used once so far to clone my 180GB Windows ssd to a new larger ssd, completed the task in 8 minutes with no problems, installed the new ssd back into the pc and booted first time as if it was booting from old drive. Whole process removing the old drive from pc, cloning to new ssd, installing new ssd in pc, booting pc, took less than 15 minutes.

El producto es lo anunciado. Se conecta a un puerto USB, y a la alimentación, y luego se pincha el disco duro deseado... y a leerlo como si fuera un pendrive. Lo he probado con discos SSD y con discos duros normales, y funciona perfectamente. Lo de la clonación no lo he probado porque tampoco lo he necesitado. Quería esta base para poder leer los discos duros internos de forma externa, y en eso... va de 10.

Works perfectly and has a very small footprint on the desk. A great way to access data on old drives, and put them to work.
