Good double burner
I saw someone's opinion about the lid not staying down, so I added a latch. It works well, plus if I store my crucible inside, there's less chance of it falling out if the smelter gets tipped over. I've tried melting some pop cans for starters... But I think I'm too new at this smelting and could use more tips. I couldn't get the cans to become completely liquid. It may have had too much contaminant from the coating on the cans. Not knowing much then... I put too much heat and melted the iron fittings at the end of the burners... Good thing they're designed to be replaceable. I do agree that the gloves are too thin, but at least you get something to use. The tongs are fine for picking up the crucible, but it'd be nice to get something else that can cup the crucible better later on. And per another opinion I read about the paint coming off... Nope it holds up well. Either way if it did, go put some more on and quit being a princess. I'm glad I purchased this furnace over the other ones I've seen on Amazon, and it works fairly well to me. If it can melt those iron pipe fittings, I suppose it can do more than cans. I'll give it a shot later with more materials laying around.

You get what you pay for
It works well, but you can tell itโs made in China. The quality is fair. Hoses are the cheapest hose I have ever seen. It does melt copper, brass and aluminum well.

Really easy to build and really fun you should get it
It is a good furnace. I love it except it takes a while to melt copper if you use the 16 KG crucible and if you do use that one for copper, I say you let it heat up first and then add the copper but itโs a great furnace I love it iโve melted copper, aluminum, and brass and itโs worked flawlessly

Failure, first time
Melted copper, tried lifting the smallest supplied crucible with the tongs in the kit and the crucible edge broke off and spilled 8 pounds of copper inside the furnace. Tipped the furnace over to get the bulk of the copper out. This resulted in the rivets on the lid handle melting, as they were made of aluminum. The package should include a lifting tong and better crucibles. The provided gloves had incomplete stitching which allowed some of the metal to burn my hand when the crucible dropped back into the furnace. Thank goodness it did not break at my feet. I am ordering some lifting tongs and pure graphite crucibles. I do not know if the insulation is compromised, but will find out on the next attempt. I purchased this product thinking it was well rated. I am now doubting the Amazon rating system.

This company values their customers
My burner arrived with some damages from shipping (which I had repaired myself). I had posted a review that explained the situation, and within hours the seller contacted me. We discussed the situation and the seller has claimed that they will do their best to make packaging better to prevent this in the future. I believe them. They went above and beyond to make this right for me. This is a simple product to assemble. Very basic design, I feel it is a good beginner design.

Good starter, but cheap quality in general.
Handle melted off almost immediately. Maybe use sturdier materials around high temperatures? Burner nozzles are cast iron and will burn off over time. Still works, but could be made of better materials. Valves and piping...really everything could be made better, but for a starter furnace it's fine. You WILL need to get a set of tongs and grips for the large crucible. DO NOT try to use the tongs to lift. The igniter was broken to begin with, and the gloves provided are worthless.

Just right for a starter setup.
Great for first timers and hobbiest. Just make sure your tank is topped off. Pressure degrades at about the halfway through a tank.
