**Q: Can a pair of these support 50 lbs of books?**
A: A pair can easily support your books - I have 300 lbs of granite supported with 3 supports.

**Q: What is the measurement of the ‘hole’ in each one?**
A: I’m not sure of measurements but yes a curtain rod would fit

**Q: Can i use this on ceramic subway tile?**
A: You mount it from the back, so if you used a ceramic drill bit and put in the right screw I guess so.  Just watch cracking the tile if you use the wrong bit.

**Q: Do these come unfinished as I would like to stain them to match my island?**
A: Yes they are unfinished

This item exceeded my picky expectation. It is flawless, durable, and beautiful! I had not even heard of "Rubber wood" before, and was concerned it might be some weak type of wood. Wrong! This stuff is VERY tough and strong. Love these corbels!
