Salbree Office Chair Hero Clamp Sinking Fix for Gas Cylinder Piston

Purchased this item with hope and a prayer that it would work on my office chair and it did! It is 4 durable plastic clamps that fit around the gas cylinder piston. I put the wrong size on initially and was able to remove it with little problem using a screwdriver as instructed. It literally snapped on and off like the instructions state. In just a few minutes it saved my chair. Although it is now a fixed height, it is a more cost-effective option than trying to change the gas piston or purchasing a new chair when the old one has so much life left in it. Would definitely recommend.

Finally a product that does what it is supposed to do and let me tell you it works very well. Ever have a favorite, comfortable office chair that just leaks down, over and over? This fixes the issue easy and quick. Saved my favorite office chair. No tools required but if you want to place and remove the part a simple flat head screwdriver works well to help pop it off. Such a genius and simple solution to an very aggravating problem. Worth every cent! Used it on my Serta Big Mans Executive office chair. I love this chair, it is so comfortable. I had started looking at a new one $$$ because this one would not stay up, found this item, bought it and I cannot say enough good things about this product. Easy to install and it just works.

I like my office chairs to be at the top of height but after a few years they all seem to leak hydraulicness and pffshhhhhhff their way to a lower setting. It will start out slowly lowering over days and then builds to lowering every hour until finally I buy a new chair. A new chair is nice, and looks like, but it's one more thing to put together in life and shlep in as the old chair goes in the chair and landfill for want of a shorter person who could use it. I hate the work and time and money to replace chairs and I buy cheaper chairs so it's been a pattern. Recently I was in my office and was getting annoyed that my chair was falling. This was my chair, not one an employer had bought, so it was on my dime and I didn't want the hassle of replacing a perfectly good chair. I thought to myself "I wonder if there's a hack for this?". And sure enough, there was! Office Chair Hero is a set of four rings that you clip around the metal stem underneath your chair. First you raise your chair to where you want it. Then flip chair. Then put these rings on until the who stem is covered with them. They are really tricky to click closed. I think they might work if you don't click, but I wanted them sturdy so I fought to close them. Possibly an adjustable wrench could have been used. I have weak hand strength post back surgery so I had a tough time but I did get them closed. Once they are on, you don't need to do again so at least it's a one time fight. I only used three of the four spacers because that was all the height of my chair would go. You can test out which ones to use before clipping on as they are each different heights so different combos will work for different height stems. I don't know what to do with the other space but I hung on to it. It comes in a white box with Office Chair Hero on it. Aside from the challenge to lock them into place, they are great. They work and that's that. You can't adjust lower once they are on so if you chair a chair with a shorter person they may not like the change but I love it. I wanted my chair to stop dropping and this did that. The spacers probably don't cost 10% to make BUT the price is WAY cheaper than buying a new chair and it is reusable so that's why I put that the value for money was 3 of 5 stars. When my office chair fake leather flakes off or the arm breaks, I will pop these off and put them on the next chair I buy. I won't wait for it to fail, I'll just reuse them day one when I replace my current chair. It is a good invention and solved a problem i've had many times in life.

So I had two chairs that sink down sometimes. The first is my chair at the office, which I received 2nd hand with a blown out air cylinder, it was bad and quickly driving me the rest of the way to crazy. The second is my chair in my home office, which wasn't bad and rarely lost pressure, but sometimes did when I shifted my weight, and it was more a matter of preventing it from getting worse than fixing anything that needed to be fixed. These worked great...mostly. There are 3 potential concerns, none of which should stop you from buying these (because they do work, and work well). Issue #1: it may not be a perfect fit from one kit. I bought two of these kits, the chair at the office was fixed by using the longest and second shortest of the rings. It is now at the perfect height, the arms are just under the desk. The second one, I couldn't fix perfectly with one kit, or at least not to my desired height (my desk at home is taller and I wanted the chair all the say up). FORTUNATELY, I still had the other pieces from the first kit. The correct combination was the longest piece and two of the second longest pieces, a height that was not achievable by any combination of a single kit. Now, if you're okay with not having the perfect height, you will probably be able to come close, so this is unlikely to be a major concern and I wouldn't suggest buying two kits unless you have two chairs, it's a very minor concern. Issue #2: grip strength required to clamp the devices. The longest one is the hardest to clamp, and the one that I installed for my work office chair was pretty hard to clamp. If you have good grip strength, this shouldn't be a major concern, but if you have a weak grip, you will likely need help or a tool to get it clamped. This may or may not be concern for you. (on a side note, unclamping is surprisingly easy, there is a slot on the side and a screwdriver easily pries it open even after it's on a chair). Issue #3: that hinge is THIN. Now, I'm not saying it's going to break, but when you see the hinge on the thing, you will be surprised and probably a bit concerned. I've had these things installed for a couple of weeks with no issue, so maybe it's not a problem...but, well, see the photo. I'm hoping the hinge doesn't tear, may or may not be a concern, I don't know yet. All-in-all, these are good and will probably fix the issue despite the minor issues I brought up. If those hinges break, I'll reevaluate and change my review, but for now it's just a concern at the back of my mind.

This honestly saved my office chair. I really liked my chair but it kept slowly sinking, and I couldn’t fix it. I was honestly sad thinking I would have to get rid of it. This clamp was very easy to install and stopped the sinking right away. I also like that it comes in different sizes, which made it easy to adjust the chair to the height I wanted. It’s been working well so far (about a month now). I’m curious to see how long it will last, but at the moment it has completely solved the problem and saved me from replacing the whole chair. Great simple solution!

This product should honestly come as a standard package with any chair. After two years, my chair started sinking randomly, so I decided to try this out—and I’m very satisfied! The adjustable sizes let you set the height exactly how you want it. Truly a must-have for anyone dealing with a similar issue.

My sons computer chair wouldn't stay raised up, the pump would just slowly lower the chair by itself all the time, and and I thought I had to buy a new chair for him. But I found these and they work amazingly to keep his chair up!! I used 3 of them on his chair and it's been a perfect affordable solution to a chair that won't stay raised up anymore. They were very easy to snap on as well.
