Vetnique Glandex Advanced Strength Anal Gland Chews for Dogs, 60ct

Our 10-year-old smooth toy fox terrier had developed terrible “scooting.” The last container of Vetnique I purchased was the larger container; this time, only the smaller pouch size. It works—not perfectly, but it helps considerably. And, our Jinx prefers the duck flavor over the peanut butter flavor. I am continuing my search for a less expensive alternative. This is not the only supplement he receives, so this part of his healthcare rivals my own. This is a good product, just very pricey.

We started using the Glandex Anal Gland Soft Chews for our Aussie who had an awful odor ALL THE TIME. We wanted something easy we could add into his normal routine, and these have been a game changer for us. The chews are easy to give, he takes them like they're a treat which is nice. The bottle gives exact dosage per day. We were looking for a fiber based supplement, and this has a good blend of ingredients designed to help with healthy digestion and natural gland expression. In terms of results, we did notice a major improvement after about 1-2 weeks of using them consistently. We have now been using them for about 2 years and, when consistent, he experiences WAY less issues than we were dealing with pre-supplement. So, it's not an overnight fix, but with regular use it seems to help maintain things and reduce how often we run into issues. Overall, it's been a helpful supplement for our dog that was a super easy addition to his daily routine. We love that it's more preventative and he aboslutely loves them. If your dog struggles with similar symptoms, this is a convenient option to try.

Update: So we initially tried 4 tbsp of rolled oats 2x a day on top of her kibble given in the morning and in the evening, she initially had an anal gland blowout switching from this to oats (big old spot the size of a tennis ball on the bed) but after did not leak her glands. She was however pooping too much so we cut back to 2 tbsp just given in the morning (she's a 30 lb dog with bad anal gland issues, to give you a better idea of how much you may need). So I'll reiterate that while this product works, it's pricey and cheap fiber supplementation seems to work just as well. Our dog has pretty bad leaky anal glands. After she eats something about an hour later she will express her anal glands on furniture and it's a decent amount. I was skeptical about if this was going to work. For the first week she did have diarrhea and loose stool, but after that first week her stool firmed up and so long as she takes this supplement every day she does not express her anal glands on furniture. She's not even on the full dose she's taking half a dose (she's 30 lbs and would normally take two chews) and it is working this well, though I did buy the advanced strength just to ensure it would work. The one critique I have is that it is pretty pricey. My husband and I are wondering if a simple fiber supplement would work just as well since the concept should just be firm poop = pressure on the anal glands to express them. My husband and I will be experimenting with rolled oats once this product is used up to see if it is just as effective and I will report back with my findings.

Not a miracle worker but it does help a lot. Although, every dog is different. My dog still has the occasional anal gland smelly issues but it’s better than before. Worth giving it a try.

I have an eight year-old 195 pound bull mastiff. All the sudden I started knowing an intense fishy smell. He was not scooting. It was just odor. I was recommended to try these since most large dogs can remedy on their own without having to have anal gland expression. Within two weeks, the smell was completely gone. He loves the treats and we give them to him every morning.

This product has been amazing and has helped improve my boys anal gland issues and sensitive stomach. Thank you!

These chews have been a great addition to my dog’s routine! I started using them because my dog sometimes has small, hard stools or occasionally skips a day. The chews are easy to give and my dog actually enjoys the taste, which makes them much easier to incorporate into our daily routine. I’ve been happy with the overall results and feel like they’ve been helpful for keeping things more regular. Definitely a product I’ll continue using!

High ratings but didn’t sit well on our puppies’ tummies. Quit giving it to them.

Thought I was going to have to take my dog to vet to have her glands squeezed, which I was reluctant to do as been through this with previous dog and they seem to fill back up quite quickly. I didn't think this product was really going to work but thought I would give it a go anyway. I was amazed by how well this worked for her. No more smelly glands and she really liked the taste of these chews

My Chi loves them. First thing in the morning give them one and he’s golden throughout the day. Good source also picky eater with food and treats. Does the job.
