Updated review... great machine and support!
ORIGINAL REVIEW: Dead on arrival. Can’t adjust resistance level due to error “E01” and there doesn’t appear to be a way to reset the system. Not to mention the packaging was horrible and literally had to shred everything in order to get all the parts out, making a return in the original packaging impossible.UPDATE: Support was incredibly responsive and replaced the unit without quickly and without issue. The new unit is working just fine and is a great machine so far! I've adjusted the rating to a five given the overall experience. Sure there was a hiccup in receiving a defective unit, but they were so quick to resolve the issue, I really can't fault them for something that probably was caused by shipping. Thanks, Merach!

Dual resistance types and excellent design make for a good rower
I have a left hip replacement, in addition to the condition that my feet turn outward quite a bit. I like rowing a lot, and I used to have a cheaper magnetic-only resistance rower, but this model locked your feet in a fixed vertical position with little wiggle room due to the smaller foot platforms. The result was that my knees would hurt due to rowing in these conditions and I ended up selling this rower. The MERACH model not only provides a cool dual resistance method, but also a very flexible foot platform that allows me to rotate my feet a bit outward when I row. Please see picture to show this. I can row with different foot positions and my knees no longer hurt when I row. My brother also has this condition and he was thrilled to hear what I had to say about this rower. Now, he is looking to buy one!The 16" handle is smooth and very comfortable to grab and hold for long periods of time rowing. Note the difference to a typical row handle attachment for a Universal Machine type of equipment. Please see picture. The weight-lifting type has a sort of grip pattern that is only meant to be used for doing short duration row sets during lifting. The seat of this rower glides smoothly and quietly. It is a bit firm and takes getting used to, but be careful of the cushion/comfort tradeoff with support. I recently bought a few different rower seat cushion models. One in particular had quite a bit of gel and was very comfortable. But then, I tested this during a 20min row, and my lower back was killing me afterward! The standard seat with this rower is firm as mentioned, but also provides excellent support and ergonomics for your rowing. This is so important! (I will be doing some returns for the seat cushions I bought).Lastly, I really like the water and electromagnetic combined resistances. When you use the rower without any music/app etc., you can really hear the water movement and it sounds so cool! It feels like you are really rowing on the water when you use this machine. Initially, I filled the chamber a bit too high with water, but the included water pump was a breeze to work and allowed me to easily take down the water level to about the 5 setting (please see picture). This rower has 16 different settings (8 more than my old rower had). And you can even further customize it by varying your chosen water levels from the 1 to 6 scale shown on the side of the tank.Overall, I feel this rower has a lot to offer for the money and is top notch in its category of rowers.

Everything is great but the foot pegs
The rower was easy to put together and looks nice. The seat and belt are smooth but the foot pegs are literally the worst design. The band that goes over your foot is really difficult to adjust and the part that cups your heal is so short that my foot literally slips right out. I do have small feet which makes it worse but my husband wears a size 12 and even he had issues keeping his feet in. I had to order an adjustable insert to replace the foot pegs with.

Excellent piece of equipment I bought my stationary bike through them also terrific to use
Very good investment if you’re older and you wanna straighten your arms and your chest your thighs arms feet it works the whole day including your back and your front. Great piece of equipment by the little pills to keep the water clean. They’re like chloride pill pills meant for that equipment

Easy to assemble
Well packaged. Easy to assemble. Works as advertised. Foot straps could be better but that’s looking for a reason to nitpick.

Great equipment, easy setup, but Merach app is useless
Arrived a few days later than expected, as it was shipped via UPS...ok, that's tolerable and understandable.Once setup, the equipment functions and looks great. The problem is the Merach app. In the user manual, 2 apps are shown/recommended. One is Kinomap, which works great but requires a subscription equal to Netflix annually, to access a majority of the content. The other app theat the manual recommended is the Merach app, which is completely useless. The Google app store gives it a rating of 1.4 stars, and I understand why. While the rowing machine is Bluetooth compatible and pairs with the Kinomap app no problem, the Merach app is another story. It sits in Binding mode forever and no amount of troubleshooting resolves the issue. Therefore, anyone wanting to use the rowing machine and get stats reported to Google Fit are S.O.L., and the only stats you'll get for that, will be from a smart watch you're wearing or from Kinomap.Edit: Merach replied to me, telling me to put the machine in exercise mode, which DOES NOT resolve the issue. Regardless of whatever troubleshooting steps taken, the Merach app will not function with it, despite the app can see the machine in a forever Binding mode that never pairs. Hopefully Merach resolves their app issues. My devices I tried to pair with the machine are both Samsung products, the S23 phone, and the Galaxy Tab S7 tablet. Neither were functional with the Merach app and the rowing machine.Edit 2: the app FINALLY paired. You have to repeatedly tap on the app binding in order for it to register.

Great machine
Operation is smooth, there’s plenty of leg room, the app that goes with it for guided workouts it high quality too.**The machine arrived with a little damage on it. It seems purely cosmetic and does not interfere with the functionality.**
