Can I use chess pieces with 3 1/2" king with this chessboard or is it too big for it?

For playing the King Base on this set measures 1 1/4", so as long as your King is close to that, it should be fine. It's generally accepted that the ratio of King base to be within 72 - 82% of the square size. **If you want to store the pieces inside the case, the King base needs to be 1 1/4" or smaller. The Jowisz King measures 3.4", but you can see from one of the photos that the top part of the king sits outside the recess area anyway, so your king would only stick out another .1 from that. The product description gives you all the info you need as well as piece heights.

How would I find replacement pieces?
