Are these spincast reels and spinning reels work for saltwater fishing?

These reels are for freshwater and do not have any Saltwater protection.

Worked great in freshwater, but the line kept snapping at the knot in saltwater. Understand the reel has no saltwater protection, but the line?

All mono absorbs moisture (in fresh or salt) …but salt shouldn’t affect the strength.

Is there a cap to keep the rod from opening up in transport? I got one with my zebco telescoping spinning reel and rod but not with spincraft rod.

Yeah it's a plastic cap with a button zip tie. It's a really nice backpack rod .
