Good Dye Young Semi-Permanent Hair Color, Vegan and Cruelty-Free Purple Hair Dye, Last up to 24 Washes, Non-Damaging Conditioning Hair Color (5FL OZ, Stoned Pony)

I am very happy with the outcome from this product! Disclaimer: I did not follow the product recommendations, and bought it twice so I could do two applications. Application: I purchased this hair color in Stoned Pony for an easy first-time home hair color experience. The product was a thick conditioning cream that was easy to apply. I just sectioned my hair, put on gloves, squeezed some product out and worked it into my dried hair, then waited. There was no dripping or mess. After rinsing out the conditioner, there were no stains or marks left in the shower or on the towel. Color: This product is recommended for pre-lightened or very light hair, and is not recommended for even medium-light hair. As noted above, I did not follow the recommendation to lighten or pre-bleach my hair. My natural color is an ashy blonde, and has been highlighted and toned many times. I knew the color transfer would not be perfect, but I was hopeful! The color transfered to any pre-lightened hair, and cooled down the tone of the rest of my hair. The first application, I left the product on for about 40 minutes, and got a faint smoky lavender tone especially on prior highlighted areas. The second application was left on for 1.5 hours, and I got a more vibrant purple on those highlighted areas and a darker ash blonde on the rest of my hair. I had gotten highlights about 3 months previously, and I have an increasing amount of grey coming in. This product gave enough color to feel fun and enjoyable without feeling overwhelming or off-putting. The formula is conditioning and restorative, and there were no issues with chemical mixing or hair damage. I may update later about color longevity and fade. Overall, I really am enjoying the look and color, despite it not being recommended for my hair color. If you're on the fence, just go for it!

I don't generally write reviews, but I think this is worth sharing. I used this product as instructed on bleached blonde hair, and it felt more like a clay mask than hair dye. After waiting the recommended time, I rinsed it out with water. It was sudsy, almost like soap, as I rinsed it. After rinsing and drying, there was almost no color deposit in my hair. If anything, it looked like I used purple conditioner and left it in a little too long. The result also left my hair feeling dry and brittle, and after months my hair texture is still more damaged than when I started. The faint tint of purple (not distinguishable from a natural hair color shade) that was there after "dyeing" faded completely in about 4 washes. Not only does this not dye your hair, but it damages it and dries it out too. Terrible.

a bit on the pricey side, but I loved the shade and smell

We ordered the stoned pony hoping it would turn my blonde daughter’s hair light purple at the bottom and darker at the top- her hair is naturally lighter at the bottom and a bit darker at top. Left it on for an hour. It turned a very cute light pink, but not the color she wanted. Then it completely washed out the third day. No trace of color at all lol. She’s under 10, so I wasn’t too upset and she got over it, but was a bit disappointed in product. Have used this before in different color and it worked- it was supposed to be a bright pink that turned almost red and washed out quickly as well. It’s fun for kids- possibly only works on bleached hair? Idk, but for $20 it’s a fun ‘what color will this be’ surprise. 🤣

Here’s my before and after with a lot of natural gray hair. Overall I’m pretty happy with it. I’ve been using keracolor purple with conditioner and it’s a very similar color for me. There are spots that I missed. Not sure if it was user error or if it just didn’t take to the gray hair. But in case anyone with gray hair was curious! Hope this helps

Excellent product! What a find! Best hair color I have ever used (and that's a lot.) Packaging is attractive, tubing is easy to use, the consistency of the product is perfect (no running or dripping) and the color is amazing. I am definitely a new, loyal customer. Thank you.

Initially I loved the color but it doesn’t stay in for anything. I have recently highlighted hair, I only wash my hair every 3-4 days and it still washes out. I have had better staying power with fanola no yellow shampoo on dry hair. And it washed out al patchy. For the price and the fact that it took a whole tube to do my hair once - I would have expected better 🫤
