Very cool product. The magnetic fields are different than I imagined

This magnetic field viewing film performed exactly as I needed—clearly showing the magnetic field pattern of a camshaft sensor’s target magnet so I could confirm it was functioning properly without wasting money on unnecessary parts. The detail it reveals made diagnosis quick and confident. Beyond that single repair, it’s become a fascinating tool for exploring magnets in everyday items and seeing how their fields are arranged. The film is reusable, easy to handle, and has already provided more value than I expected—both for practical troubleshooting and satisfying my curiosity.

I used it to visualize the magnetic fields of guitar pickups. Some of them have cover and are sealed so this helps me to see the real construction behind (blades, screws etc.) Also it gives very general idea of the field strength which is nice and of course is represented visually.

Think of being able to see magnetic fields around a magnet. This "viewer" makes that possible. It seems to be a bit too weak to use for more demanding technical work, but it's a great demo that allows you to show people a physical phenomenon that is usually invisible. Should be of interest to science teachers as well as the curious.

Good material reveals magnetic fields, sensitive, and a good frame. It will help me with coil winding project. Good value.

Have had a lot of fun with this product. It is geared towards stronger magnets, as it doesn't reveal data on magnetic stripes. Good for subjective comparison of magnetic strengths. Pictured: an N52 round beside a weaker (maybe N35?) rectangle.

Works great but I would recommend taking it out of the cardboard thing it comes in

Does it work? Yes. But it’s not so revealing unless the magnetic field is VERY strong.
