Just right.
It has the perfect blend of sweet (hints of raisins) and heat (mild pepper). Has been my favorite of the three Urfa's that I've tried so far. Good value too.

MUST HAVE this pepper!
The taste of this dried Turkish pepper is unlike any other dried pepper product on the market. Not only is it unique in taste, but also in how it’s made. Urfa Biber peppers are set out to air dry by the farmers, instead of brining them inside at night, the racks are sealed or the peppers put in containers to ‘sweat’. That extra labor is obviously worth the result. Smoky and fruity with a slight tangy twist it is a delicious addition to hot chocolate, ferments, ice cream or even bread. We like mixing it with unsalted butter to use on freshly baked bread. This is going to be a staple in the pantry going forward. Split the jar with some friends if you think it may sit on your shelf for 3+ years or to spread the cost. A truly perfect pepper to pick!

OMG the flavor!
This is my first time trying it just by itself from a spoon. After at least a 1/2 Tbsp in my mouth, it starts w a bit of a moist chewiness. Then the heat. But not more that regular Tabasco heat. It's like eating raisins w hot sauce almost, and kinda tastes meaty. Really good aftertaste that stays around for 20 min at least. This will be great on chicken and pork smoked on the grill for a few hours! So glad I bought this. This will be great in mexican meals too as well as a topping on pasta. I'll definitely be buying this regularly!
