Gets the job done
Great sound and build quality, had a bit of a hard time tuning, and I’m not sure if it was the drum, the head, or the app I was using.

Just buy it
So I own a small recording studio, bought this head and put it on an 60s acrolite and wow. Almost no sympathetic resonance from other drums and tight full sound. It’s been the snare of choice for the past 5 projects or so. I’ve tried a bunch of different heads in the past 20 years (I’m constantly changing drum heads on 10+ snares in the studio) and have never had a better snare side head. Do yourself a favor!

Awesome under rated reso head
I put this on my pork pie big black brass snare with pure sound super 30 and hydraulic head and wow I have a nice thick back beat now I love it. Bottom head tight and gave my batter a medium tune love the way my snare sounds. I still get a good ghost note as well good enough for contemporary Christian type of music. I play hard I’m not a jazz player of sorts I like a nice deep tone to my drums and washy cymbals and this helps out a lot with the beefy sound that I like to drive songs.

Very good Evans Clear 500 Snare Side Drum Head! Shipping treated as fragile object ty!
Evans Clear 500 Snare Side Drum Head - Single Ply 5mil Film Drumhead - Ideal for Deep Drums or Heavy Rock is an almost perfect snare side drum head for my personal playing style. I want to try the Evans Clear 300 Snare Side head, but I have a Joey Jordison 13" Snare and have had no luck finding the hazy ones. Sound: Powerful attack and crack for all the genres I played from Metal to pop! Haven't recorded it with a Shure SM7B mic yet but will soon and compare the sound to any new resonant heads! Paired mine with an Evans Heavyweight Batter Snare Head.

Really love these heads
Really love these heads. I have been using Diplomats for years but always found them a little too sensitive especially with the snare wires a little on the looser side, which is how I like them. I decided to try the 500's because they are a little thicker than the Diplomats (5 mil as opposed to 3) and I found the extra thickness gave me the nice fatter sound that I was after. I have since changed my other snares to these heads as well, and they all sound great. I highly recommend these to anyone who wants a nice fat sound with still enough snare sensitivity for buzz rolls and softer playing.

Helps Achieve a Deep/Punchy Sound
Helps achieve a super fat/punchy sound. Noticeable difference from a thinner snare side head. Far more dark, throaty, and punchy.I cranked this head super tight, went about a 1/4 turn past finger tightened on the batter head, applied a Richie Ring and a Moon Gel, and loosened the snares to be pretty buzzy. It sounds DEEP and hits you in the stomach. Your band and engineer will love it.
