Why was my order deemed undeliverable and was abruptly cancelled by Amazon who refunded my money but gave no further explanation as to why?

I believe undeliverable also means the manufacturer ran out of the item or it was discontinued.

Could the 12” be used for a 12”L x 9”D x1”thick shelf being used for a cat play wall? Heaviest cat is 17lbs, could reach 20lbs eventually.

I am not familiar with this size of cleat. Personally I wouldn't hesitate to use since the description identifies it can be used for a shelf. I didn't see a weight capacity. I did notice the dimensions in product description are different than pictured. Either way if your shelf is 1" some of the cleat will show. Good luck

How much weight will this support? I have a shelf that weighs 84 lbs

I would not use these to hold a shelf that heavy unless you are screwing directly into wood studs or will be using toggle bolts.
