It does warm up quickly on it's highest setting, but I have to use it sometimes when looking through PVC pipes to help me find any clogs or gunk. outside, it is nice and bright. It comes with a multi-page instruction booklet because it has many features you can use the flashlight for like warning flashes and such. However, I only really needed a very bright flashlight, and I do like that it is rechargable. It is a little pricey, but worth it. It is heavy for a flashlight, but not so heavy that it's a burden.
