It was horrible having to use USB3 devices on a machine with only USB2. I was very pleased to find out that this worked out of the box on Linux Mint and Manjaro Linux, with nothing to install or configure. On Windows, the driver was easy to download and install, though I'm an advanced user so that's not saying much. (A little more documentation might help Windows users with the driver install.) This adapter card is every bit as fast as it's supposed to be, and doesn't get the least bit hot like I expected it to. Since I have a skinny PC, I had to use the low-profile (short) bar, but it only took about 45 seconds for me to swap out the big one. Note that this is PCI, not PCI Express, but if I had to do it again, I'd definitely buy this. For now, I'm only giving four stars, because I had hoped to be able to boot from it, though that may be a shortcoming of my machine.

If you intend to use these usb 3.0 ports to read and write, then this is great, but I couldn't boot my system from it using my host OS from my usb 3.0 key. Not earth shattering for most people, but rather limiting its use for me!

I had been looking for and upgrade for USB 3 for an older computer. Hard to find compatible products. This unit is perfect for the solution. Works great . Love it

This did not work in a "conventional PCI" slot. The slot in my computer only had one gap in the circuit card slot. This card had two gaps. Even though it fit the slot, my computer would not boot.

Good product, works, hard to find PCI card. Other reviews about the ports not fitting the case are correct - had to trim the port opening in the case.

Easy installation-added USB 3.0 to my older mcomputer! Simple-just install-find driver and reboot!
