accurate, maintenance free reliable and practical
This is a great little accurate unit that weighs out my life now. I use it everyday. Battery life is great, itโs been months without replacing them. It arrived promptly without excessive packaging and has been employed in a multitude of areas from weighing out TCM herbs and teas, to ingredients for favourite dishes. Great for calorie counting and anyone having to manage their intake after surgeries or life events that alter dietary requirements. It has a good range of practical tolerances and ca easily support a small plastic transparent tray and still maintain a good range. Heavier containers tax the capacity.

Cheap scale for home lab
Overall it's a good scale for applications requiring a moderate degree of precision, like weighing spices, oils, or nutrient media. It's very lightweight, like picking up a calculator, and the buttons require a firm touch. I still think it's a good buy for $30 if you want precision to within a few hundredths of a gram. It can be plugged in or run off 2 AA batteries. The display is bright and the counting function works. The only real drawback for me is the upper weight limit of 600g.

Power cord prevents auto-shut off
My favourite part of this scale is the power cord which thankfully appears to disable the auto-shut off, which is good. As for calibration: I haven't used the scale extensively yet, but I did test it with a multi-piece calibration set. (I can't yet speak to the precision of the calibration set, but it wasn't very expensive). This scale (the SF-400D model) calibrates to 200g. I don't see any way of calibrating to higher or lower amounts. Unfortunately, I bought a multi-piece calibration set so I have five pieces that need to go onto the scale quickly to make 200g. I pre-load them on cardboard, set the calibration function, then slide them onto the scale.) In short, the scale appears to accurately calibrate at 200g. At low weights, it is off by 0.01 to 0.03g which is negligible for most of what I use it for. This scale doesn't detect the 10mg and 20mg weights by themselves but I don't think it was meant for that low of a range. Based on what the box shows, this scale also comes in capacities of 300g, 2000g and 3000g. This could be useful for an affordable scale with reasonable accuracy and which has a power cord, which seems hard to come by otherwise.

Works great for a scale.
Perfect for my kid to use for whatever metals he weighs. Friend borrowed it to weigh violin parts while building them. Works perfect for it. Quick and accurate.

Great scale!
Not the most expensive, but it is accurate and can be calibrated. It has leveling feet and it comes with a power cord. It runs on battery power or you can use the power cord and transformer adapter that is included. The leveling feet are easy to adjust. The Electronic Compact Scale SF 400 D features an easily read backlighted display, with a counting function. A handy addition to my kitchen.
