The bright gold spokes and the gold-and-black handle are blingier than I would usually choose, but I still like the look very much. Functionality is all important, and the UV protection is UPF 50+, which means it’s ideal for protection against the damaging sun’s rays. It’s also effective at keeping you cool in the sun - the umbrella has a large span (see the product details for dimensions) and I was surprised how much cooler I felt under its shade. I haven’t been able to put it to the test in windy wet conditions yet. I see that they claim it to be windproof. For me there’s a couple of downsides: -it feels quite weighty: it weighs 388 grams without the sleeve. I think for carrying something around in the heat I’d like something lighter. But it’s understandable to need some weight for a multi purpose umbrella/sunshade. -It’s not automatic, and it’s quite stiff to put up, also (to a lesser extent) to put down. It reminds me of struggling with putting up umbrellas when I was a child, and being scared I’d trap my fingers! This may ease with use. It wouldn’t put me off buying it. Worth saying it looks nothing like as pristine as the product images, as the silver outer material is very creased (see my photos) and I’m not sure that’s ever going to smooth out? But I love the colours anyway. It also comes in a nice sleeve, which makes it good for gift giving.
