Does anyone know if there is a good quality case that this unit can be carried in attached to a belt, not a clip where it could easily fall off.

I use a vivanco pocket camera case that my belt goes through. it also holds my earphones.

China. Designed and made there by a Chinese manufacturer, even the website is .cn which is domain for China.

Mine freezes on the same track. Updated firmware, used different card, deleted that track and now freezes on different track.

I can't say I've experienced anything similar, Geoff so I'm unable to help. Is it a different type of file - perhaps the bit rate is too high or it's a unsupported type of lossless file? Might have to contact manufacturer?

Is there firmware update for this device? i can't get the tagging to work correctly for flac's. album and artist tags don't seem to work.

I don't think there is a way to update the firmware. The 'Update' option in the menu is simply to update the file list stored on the Micro SD card. If you search on the Internet for 'Mp3tag software' you should be able to find free software which will allow you to edit the tags on your music files. They also work on FLAC files even though they are often named 'mp3'. Obviously any editing is best done on a PC or Mac before you transfer the files to your SD card. Same applies if you're having trouble displaying album art - have a look for software which using recognised art databases and edit. It is a case of trial and error a lot of the time, finding what works and what doesn't, but I find that quite fun getting my 256Gb SD card library in some kind of uniform order!
