You will need a propane/butane gas torch. After the initial installation "melting" the bitumen hardens and the new melting point raises to about 350 degrees. It works really well to repair cracks and join new to old asphalt pavements. **Q: My driveway is grey concrete, will this work?** A: I’ve never tried it on concrete but this is sticky black tar. If you expect to have it match the concrete it cannot be painted. It’s been on my asphalt driveway for over a year now and when the sun hits it up it gets soft. **Q: How do you get the product to come free from it's plastic backing? it's so sticky, try as i might, i can't peel the silver backing tape off. help!** A: It's easy. Just take the roll out of the packaging, peel the start or the roll and stick it down onto the cracked asphalt, pressing down as you go. then when the tape is stuck to the pavement just peel off the shiney plastic separation film leaving the black tape stuck down. (you need to press down on the separation film otherwise the bitumen will stick to your fingers) Then torch the tape, melting and "welding" the cracks or joins.
