Took it out of the box and set it up fast in less than 5 minutes. Super easy, hardly anything. Filled it, top fill which is convenient. Holds a LOT of water, which I like, I’m too busy to constantly be checking it for water so the huge water tank is nice. Pressed power button and instant thick water vapor! I could go higher on the humidity, but I guess I want to make sure I’m not getting floor condensation first in the spot I have it. Minnesota winters get dry like living in a desert, no moisture in the air due to the extreme cold. I will write an update how well it works after running it a few days. Our hands and lips are chapped in the house and if that goes away, it’s a win. The way it’s pumping out the vapor, at even a medium setting, I assume if it keeps running well it will work fabulous. Update: This unit worked so awesome, I screwed up and overfilled the unit because I forgot that I had already filled it earlier in the day. Having said that, it does have overflow holes that allows the water to drain out BUT it will drain onto the floor so just beware of that. I unplugged the unit and put towels down and had to leave to go somewhere. I got lazy and left it sit a few days and when I went to turn it back on it would not work. We opened up the top and my over fill of water had gotten on the electrical board and probably fried it. Honestly I consider this my fault, but I wish there was a way to keep water out of the electrical area if your dumb and completely overfill it like me. I will be purchasing another one today as our cracked hands and lips have come back. Everyone felt a difference in our 4,000 sqft house when it was running and it’s hard to go back to feeling so dry now that we spoiled ourselves with this unit. So, don’t be dumb and over fill it or if you accidentally do I personally suggest you immediately expose the electrical components (after unplugging it first of course) and dry them out! I have a feeling if I would have taken the time to do that right away I wouldn’t be staring at a dead unit. I read other reviews of mold and other issues and I just am not sure how that happened for them. I did use the UV light function when I ran ours, and I ran ours on about 60% humidity and I don’t know how tap water would get moldy in a day even without. If you leave a glass of tap water out for a week it usually doesn’t grow mold unless there was a contaminate. I can say from living in a previous house with a very high iron content in well water that we would get a nasty slime on everything but this is common with iron and not considered mold. I am wondering if this is what the reviewers are referring to but who knows. I also know when I use essential oils in any diffuser I get a slime I have to clean out, I did not add any to this unit yet how ever. For the reviews that say it wasn’t pumping out on the setting they had, I did have that happen once and I do not know if it is a sensor or something (for example I had it set at 60% and noticed it was on 30% when I went to refill it one day), but I just turned my unit off and back on and it went back to the setting I wanted. I assumed maybe it has some sensor or something so it didn’t bother me to have to do it. I am guilty for not reading the manual as it seemed so easy to figure out just playing around with it. Over all I am very happy with the unit and like I said I am ordering another. It ran for a few weeks just perfect until I decided to have a giant brain fart and add water to an already full unit. I have been running this whole house humidifier for a week now. Before I was using a single gallon teardrop style humidifier trying to humidify a large living room kitchen space, then at night I would move it into the bedroom. The teardrop could not increase the humidity but a few % and only maintain about 32% humidity. This was just too dry for our sinuses and skin. After purchasing this large room humidifier I was happy to see it was pushing the humidity up in the entire house to about 45% and maintaining it. I don't have to run it 24 hours just about 12 hours during the day. I've been running it on the level 3 setting . It will spit out about a gallon every 4 hours at that setting. I was using a single gallon distiller but found I would have to distill all day to keep up with the humidifier so I purchased a second distiller and now I have no issues. I'll make 2 gallons in the morning and 2 gallons in the evening and that's plenty with water to spare. I also purchased the drops to keep the bacteria slime down. Haven't had any issues. Remote control comes in handy when I want to shut it off for the evening. It's a lot easier than trying to bend over and look at the buttons. Being able to fill it through the top without having to disassemble anything is a big plus also. Very happy with this purchase and would recommend this product. *** update. *** Almost 2 years now, the pump motor started getting louder. Not bad considering it runs 8-12 hours daily. I was worried the pump was going to go out so I bought a new one. Hoping I get another 2 years out of this one. Definitely much quieter new. Still happy with my purchase. Update 11/4/25: been running it set to level three and the humidity sensor setting at 45%. So it'll pump the humidity up to 45% and then stop. Then when it senses the humidity getting below like 40% it turns on again and pumps the humidity back up to 45%. Very happy with the setting it seems to work well most days it uses about a gallon and a half of water. I'm very dry days it'll use about two and a half gallons of water per day. I'm able to use my distillers and keep up with the water use fairly easily. I prefer the distilled water it doesn't leave any film on the furniture after months of use.

I’ve used numerous humidifiers over the last 50 years because dry winter air greatly decreases resistance to respiratory diseases. The early ones were some sort of evaporative device—belts, spongy cylinders, blankets. These would turn brown and lose their effectiveness as mineral deposits accumulated and had to be cleaned often to keep working well. Several years ago I discovered cool mist units that were easier to maintain and I purchased a unit for my bedroom. That helped a lot, but involved either lugging the entire unit to my kitchen sink or multiple trips with a pitcher of water to refill it. The bedroom humidity was fine, but the rest of my 1600 sq ft house had very low humidity during cold spells. This year, I decided to tackle that problem with a larger cool mist units and chose the Honovos 17 L large room unit, and I’ve been more than pleased with the results. The unit has wheels and can easily be rolled over to my kitchen sink where the hose from the faucet can direct a stream of water into the large top opening, so refilling it is easy. No more lugging a heavy filled unit or multiple trips with a pitcher. The display is easy to read from a distance and the remote control works well. The extension tube expels the mist higher up in the room than other floor units so the humidity spreads more easily around the family room/kitchen/dining area. It has completely solved my low humidity problem with style. My only criticism is that I’d like an audible warning ehen the tank is approaching empty so I might do a needed refill just before it might run dry during the night. I am very happy with my purchase.

This unit works great. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is-due to two important points only. The description misled me to believe it would humidify a whole house which is way under the square footage it stated. In fact, it will humidify a large open area but as you move into other walled off rooms it barely affects the humidity. In my test using my humidity gage, it only raised the humidity by one point in walled off rooms but in our two rooms that are not walled off it would raise the humidity 8 to 10 points. The second reason was of less importance but the gage on the unit doesn’t match up with either of the two humidity gages I have. The two hages are within 4 points of each other but the humidifier states10 points higher than the other 2 gages. This is not a big deal but if you’re needing a specific amount of humidity, buy a backup humidity gage. I highly recommend this unit as it works great and is very quiet and seems very well made but it doesn’t do a whole house if you have rooms with walls. We had to buy a small humidifier to use in our bedrooms.

I recently moved to a dry climate and I often have trouble with sinus infections, sore throats etc. I knew I needed a humidifier. The first one I purchased did not work as I needed it to and was returned. I found this unit and felt the additional expense was worth it for my health. I am so pleased with this unit. It has a super large water tank so you don’t have to constantly fill it. The output is variable and can be set to an intermittent out put. At the highest vapor output it puts out a fog of vapor. It is quiet and you can turn off the display so it will not bother you at night if you are sensitive to light. All functions are controlled with a remote control unit. You can go to bed without having to fill a tank or find switches at floor level. I have no health issues at all. If I wanted I could leave it on all the time and next winter there may be times I roll it into the family room and let it humidify the main living areas too. The base has little wheels that allow you to move it easily when full of water. It certainly has the output and water capacity to condition a very large space. I am very happy with this purchase. I do not use the long output extension tube. Its very unattractive to me. If I had one change to make it would be to shorten it. The unit works just fine without it. If you have problems sleeping in a dry climate this machine is well worth your money.

We use it to heat our large great room that has a wood burning stove in it so you can imagine how dry it is! We have starting using this humidifier for a couple months now and it has definitely made a difference in terms of humidity. It evaporates a couple gallons per day on high so you can just assume all that moisture is getting into the air, if not, then where else would it go? If some people have issues with it not producing enough moisture in the air, then they should probably get two. But one is plenty enough. I use the UV light for "filtration" but have absolutely no clue how it works or even if it's on. There's a dim light that appears when I press the button, but who knows. So I will assume it's providing something beneficial. And it has a remote, which is a pretty nice idea if you have a loft and don't want to go downstairs to turn it off. But I think for the average person the remote is pointless. I have a remote for my air conditioner and that makes a lot more sense; usually you put air conditioners in windows, and some windows are high up, like in basement apartments/condos. But now that I think about it, I do use my remote because I the buttons are low for me (at my hip level) because I'm tall and my back usually hurts so I don't like to bend down so maybe the remote IS a great feature. So in conclusion, this is a great humidifier so far. The test is to write this review in a year or two or three to see if it's reliable and or to see if it's even still working. Which I'm thinking that it may not; which would be the same for all humidifies on average. Think of the delicate array of electronics that are used to produce that beautiful mist. And how everyone's water is different. So I just purchased the extra insurance that sometimes comes with amazon electronic purchases. Either way, I happy, this is a great addition to our living quarters.

I was just about to put my humidifier in a back closet even though we stopped using it in May, and I remembered just how much I liked using it. The HVAC humidifier in our townhouse just wasn't doing the job, even with new parts, so I decided to buy a free standing unit. I found this one on Amazon last November and decided to order it. I could not be more satisfied with the purchase. We had been using a few small cool mist humidifiers throughout the house, but they were a pain as they only held about a quart of water and had to be refilled daily. This unit holds 4.5 gallons and will run for a number of days before you need to refill with water, The wheels on the unit made it easy to roll into the kitchen and fill with the spray hose on the kitchen sink. However, I had an idea to make it easier by buying a cheap plastic flower watering can with a removable spray head (see picture) and fill and carry it to the humidifier. You don't have to open the humidifier, you just poor the water in from the top of the unit. Very easy! Lastly, the unit dramatically raised the humidity in the house overall and made it much more comfortable, and I think it just looks "cool" as it runs and pumps out a big visible cloud that quickly dissipates into the air. Fun to see and I sometimes just walk through the cloud. (I guess I am still a kid at heart.) I highly recommend this humidifier if you need to increase the winter humidity level in your home. You won't be disappointed.

I bought this large-capacity humidifier, so I don't have to refill it too often. The manufacturer says a complete cycle on the highest mist setting takes 21 hours, but I find that it will go for about 24 hours before needing to be refilled. Also, although the user manual doesn't mention an automatic shutoff when empty, it does make a few beeps when empty and then shuts down automatically. (It gurgles a couple of times just before running out of water, so that also helps to alert to a pending shutdown.) Because optimal indoor relative humidity is about 30-50%, I was surprised that the product has a low-end humidity setting of 45% instead of 30% (adjustable in increments of 5% from 45% to 95%). But in practice that works out O.K. because the humidistat is located on a cord attached to the humidifier, so when it registers 45% current humidity on the machine's display, the actual humidity registered on humidity gauges located farther away from the machine usually shows levels in the range of about 35-38%, which is fine. The machine is also quiet and easy to fill. I don't yet know about the machine's durability, but it looks sturdy, and I think it will last a long time. (I did buy an extended warranty, however.) The only minor problem I've noticed is that the blue light bulb inside that signals the ultraviolet light is working appears to have gone out after about a month. I'm not sure if that means the UV is no longer working, or just the indicator quit working. I see that the machine also contains a permanent ceramic filter so that I don't need to buy extra filters. The only thing that seems a bit weird is the instruction for using essential oils. It says use just two drops; but two drops don't do much, so I put 10 drops in the oil container. Even then, the aroma is mostly just around the machine, not farther away, so I don't plan to waste money on more essential oils. Here's a tip based on my experience: I tried using demineralization cartridges in this, but they turned out to be pretty much useless. So, I bought an electric water distiller on Amazon to produce distilled water for the humidifier. If one uses distilled water, there is no more white powder/dust produced by the humidifier's mist output. Not only that, but one doesn't need to clean it and change the water as often when using distilled water instead of tap water. I used to have to clean it once a week to prevent residue buildup on the ultrasonic transducers and scum on the inside of the humidifier. After starting to use distilled water for the first time, I let it go at least two weeks before cleaning. When I opened it for inspection, there was almost no residue on the transducers and no sliminess at all in the water tank or on other parts. After cleaning it with white vinegar--and not bothering finishing the cleaning with bleach this time--I will now let it go for a month before cleaning it again. I will smell the mist it produces every day starting at two weeks to make sure it still smells clean and fresh. If it starts to smell even slightly funky, that's when I'll know to clean it and change the water. But properly distilled water should last a very long time because it has no minerals in it to allow mold to develop.

We live in a log home and our climate can get quite cold in the winter, which means that our relative humidity in the house can drop to 20/20%. This humidifier, when set to 45% keeps our 1100 sq ft main floor at about 35%, using a remote humidity reader. It has worked very well over the last few months that we have owned it and it's super easy to fill, and to set up. I would caution against moving it around with water in it,as it tends to be a bit tipy. I would definitely buy again.

I needed a large humidifier to cover my whole apartment. The large tank is last for days on lower setting of which there are 4. The wheels on the bottom allow me to move it easily from bedroom to living area where I need it.

Works great only have to fill every couple of days

Worked good for the first winter (3 months), then during the second season the fan bushing went making and incredible noise. Very expensive for such a short life cycle.

Setting up was easy. I filled it with loads of tap water, plugged it in, PRESTO- we got ample mist and for hours before a sound from the Humidifier singled it needed a refill of water. It also shut off once when we left it on overnight when it was empty. The Remote works great with many easy options as indicated in the Manual. PROBLEM: Using our city tap water causes a brown substance to cling to most internal areas, making access to cleaning parts, difficult. I used distilled vinegar and dish soap to get rid of most of the gunk. So CLEANING gets only ONE STAR because access to the "Top cover of the sink" is almost impossible, without special brushes, which the Manual refers to often. To avoid the 'Gunk', use Distilled Water, which I was hoping to avoid due to the cost and heavy lifting of so many large bottles we buy from Walmart, for other Humidifiers we use. Other than the cleaning, it gets 5 Stars.
