Will buy again.
I have used this bracket on both my JK and Jku. it works great and keeps the radio out of the line of sight and frees up space on the dashboard. Easy to install just 2 screws and the bracket is in.

Perfect installation location for my Uniden PRO520XL CB radio. (With Updates)
Bought a Uniden PRO520XL CB radio on Amazon for my 2015 Jeep JKU, and was debating where to install it. This mount is a perfect location. I thought the installation would be simple, then got nervous when I realized that I would need to pop out a portion of the windshield trim. Turns out that the installation was simple. Remove freedom panels, gently pop out the trim just enough to access two bolts, and the rest is simple (printed instructions in the box do the job). The only (very minor) challenge was drilling two holes in the Uniden bracket to line up with the pre-drilled hole set in this bracket. I shared pictures. I also shared pictures of the wiring from the battery, through the firewall and up the trim. Cables not yet connected to battery (red/positive and black/ground). Antenna not yet installed, and coaxial not yet run, so no more pics to share. (Update 1) The other week there was torrential rain, blowing sideways. I have a hardtop on my 2015 Jeep Wrangler JKU. If you have a Jeep Wrangler, you know that water sometimes gets in through the seam on the freedom panels. My Jeep is no exception and I found some water dripping off the sides of the CB radio in the morning. I am fortunate that the vent on my CB is on the underside, and the water didn't get inside. If the vent was on the top or sides, it would likely have damaged the internal circuitry.

A little wiggly, but a very satisfying solution to JK radio install
The Rugged Ridge CB mount fits my 2017 wrangler sport 2 door just fine. Installation took about an hour. It requires removal of the three trim pieces around the windshield, as well as the retaining bracket for the sunroof. There is no drilling required, but you will need star bits to remove the retaining bracket. The mount itself is a little thinner than I would have chosen were I to manufacture it from scratch. While driving, my UV-50x2 vibrates and wiggles pretty strongly. It can be annoying, but I don't think the bracket will break. This could have been solved by using thicker steel. The mount itself is not inherently centered due to the placement of the sunroof retaining bracket. But this can be offset by mounting the CB retaining bracket to the side. Depending on your CB mounting bracket you may want to drill holes to adjust the left to right placement. My radio sits right above my rear mirror even though the main bracket is attached to the left of the mirror. My radio does not obstruct the mirror at all. The built in cable hook is a nice feature. wrapping your handset cable over the bracket and letting the handset dangle works just fine. I decided to put a bracket on my dash however to hold the mic in place. For a mounting a radio in a JK, this is one of the best options hands down. I would buy this again in a heartbeat.

Holds my full size VHF radiio
I bought this knowing it would rattle a little with my full size VHF radio mounted. It took me a good 3 1/2 hours to install but I took my time and did it right. I removed the center plastic cover and a pillar trim pieces. I removed the side covers on the dash as well. I mounted the mount not quite how the instructions said to. I put the mount behind the bar for the hardtop latch. This sandwiches it tight against the windshield frame and make it much less prone to shaking. I know, I put it right and back after the radio was shaking more! So put it behind the latch bar. Be aware it will make it harder to reinstall the center plastic cover. I ran my wires down the a pillars to hind them and make it look better. I was able to push my cords through some small holes premade in the firewall that were only filled with expanding foam. I ran the coax down the left and the power leads on the right. They then exited the firewall to mount antenna mount and battery. Overall I am happy with the mount and would recommend it. As long as the mount is placed behind the bar it will hold a full size VHF amateur radio with some minor shaking. But it is in a convent place for use so I don't mind it much.

Finally a simple and inexpensive mounting option for Jeep JK Wranglers
This mount is great. I originally mounted my CB above the rear view mirror but I attached it to the plastic trim piece. I never liked it and was always looking for a better mounting solution. I found this by dumb luck on a forum and ordered it. It uses the same attachment points as the footman loop. Works great. I was concerned it would not be strong enough to hold my 29LTD Classic full size CB, but it holds it fine. I have a 2012, and the footman loop attaches via T-15 torx screws. Simple installation. If you have a 2007-2011 the instructions state you have to drill out the rivets for the footman loop and then insert some type of attachment pieces. All in all this is a great solution for mounting a CB in a JK Wrangler.

I like this mount as it places my CB up and ...
I like this mount as it places my CB up and out of the way but reachable. With that said there are a couple things that could have made this mount better and more secure. 1. If you are using a larger CB (as I am - Cobra 29XL) you will find this mount is not strong enough to keep your CB 100% secure. If the metal used for this mount were just a little thicker or stronger it would have been much better. I ended up placing some dense foam strips between my CB and the top of the windshield frame in the rear of the mount and between my CB and the bottom of the mount in front to keep my CB from bobbling up and down over bumps. Overall it is pretty secure, but this should have been the case out of the box. 2. Implementation on a 2007-2010 JKs (I have a 2008) requires drilling the rivets that hold the center footman loop in place. This isn't terrible, but Rugged Ridge could have provided a better solution than the well nuts and screws provided. I quick stripped the screws trying to get them tight enough to hold the footman loop and CB mount securely in place using the provided well nuts. I ended up picking up some M5x20 allen head screws and tightening them with an allen wrench socket on my 1/4" ratchet. Much tighter than you could ever get with a phillips head screw driver. Even better would have been a couple nut inserts. I read where other folks used nut inserts to good effect instead of the supplied well nuts. For folks with a 2011 or newer JK, appropriately tightening the screws holding the footman loop in place might not be an issue.

Where else would you install a radio?
Very easy install and the location of the mount works perfect, radio is high enough to not obstruct vision and is within easy reach for use. It does not interfere with the sun visors or the freedom top latch. Mount is of high quality construction and instructions were complete and all of the required parts were included. I don't know where else you would install your radio in a JK, this mount is perfect. Running the power and antennae to the radio was straight forward. I remove the microphone when not in use and the radio is not as conspicuous. It is more 'out of sight' than I thought it would be.

Easy to install
It does bounce on rough trails, but it looks good and holds my bearcat 880. You’ll need to remove your rear view mirror. That’s why I gave it 4 stars
